MAJOR PROJECTS

Auditing project: As part of the Auditing course I took, I participated in the project where each team was given a company to audit. We went over the financial statements and all the other related information of the assigned company, as well as conducted interviews with various employees, to get a better picture in order to complete the allocated assignment.

Portfolio Formation: In advanced corporate finance, we were asked to make a portfolio with 15 companies, to get the assigned rate of return while keeping the beta and other risk factors in mind. The project required selecting companies from different sectors and then calculating the standard deviation of each company and the standard deviation of the entire portfolio. It required a lot of research and calculations to get the targeted rate of return while making sure the portfolio is well- diversified.

Finance Project: As part of the finance course, each team has to come up with a new business to start and project how the company would perform in the future. Our idea was to start a new cab company. We conducted interviews and surveys to see what the customers would want. We estimated financial information for the next ten years and presented how the company would grow and what potential problems it may face.

SOCIAL WORK

Internship at Care Foundation: Care, Pakistan is an NGO that educates underprivileged children. I spent three weeks at the organization’s head offices, to help formulate challenging and well-rounded syllabi for different grades. The project was to ensure that the children are getting the best education and opportunities.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Vice President Design and Dynamics Society in High School

Headed the structures department in the 6th Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition (ARSSDC) held in India, and organized by NASA.

Got selected among the top fifty in National Science Talent Contest (NSTC) for the mathematics.

Part of the host team at LUMS that organized LUMUN. (LUMS Model United Nations).

Part of LUMS’s host team in organizing CARMA, a journalistic competition, where teams from all across the country participated.

Volunteered in organizing Sci-fi, a science competition, at LUMS.
