After leaving school I started working for Petit Forestier. Having served a 4 year
apprenticeship and attending Motherwell College during this time, I achieved the
following qualifications:
• Modern Apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• IMIAL Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• IMIAL Level 3 SVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Although based in the workshop in Bellshill, I also work in the field as and when
required. My work was varied and consisted of the repair and maintenance of the
company fleet of refrigerated vehicles from 7.5 to 18 tonne diesel trucks to trailers and
company cars. This involved servicing, pre-MOT inspection and preparation, electrical
and body work, using diagnostic systems, stock control and dealing directly with
customers.
