EIH Manager, James Hardie, Cleburne, TX 2014 to 2015
Brought into position to manage the Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and property insurance compliance programs, consult on EHS matters for both the southern region corporate leadership team and an additional James Hardie manufacturing facility (40+ miles away). Accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of the site TCEQ air permits, Storm Water, SWPPP, SPCC, Industrial Waste Management/Storage/ Transportation, Environmental Management System (EMS – ISO 14001), city/county/state/federal regulatory regulations compliance and EHS-specific media relations. Managed 2 direct reports, 5 indirect reports and EHS department of $1.49 billion global fiber cement company while managing and providing oversight to EHS improvements for capital projects valued to $40 million.
Reversed a 5-year double digit incident rate (IR) and triple digit severity rate (SR, similar to the OSHA Days Away, Restrictions and Transfers (DART) rate) to below 1.70 IR and 0.00 SR within second half of company fiscal year by executing and holding accountable the site safety performance, through all management levels, and executing strategic safety initiatives for individual departments and site as a whole.
Worked closely with management, employees and site SafeStart Steering Committee to facilitate “make-up” SafeStart classes to improve completion rate from 43% to 95%, the highest percent completion for an external safety program introduced at the site.

Streamlined the site annual physicals program to capture a 92% successful completion
