I have joined the Bio-Rad SAP Basis team since July 2015 to help manage their existing production support SAP landscape and to support implementing their on-going SAP implementation project. Major responsibilities are:

Installation, configuration, maintenance and support of multiple SAP landscapes and 3rd party tools.

Perform SAP system copy/refreshes for sandbox, development, QA, and training systems.

Kernel upgrades and applying support packs.

Provide deep technical hands-on support for project and production support issues.

For Medicis Pharmaceuticals, Phoenix, AZ, USA - Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation is the leading independent specialty pharmaceutical company in the United States focusing primarily on the treatment of dermatological and aesthetic conditions. Deloitte has been appointed the sole implementing partner to implement SAP. I have been engaged in this project since June 2013 as the Technology Lead and On-site project manager to handle the project. Some of my key roles are:

Maintain client’s SAP environment.

Implement new SAP components.

It is an engineering-focused major technology innovator and global leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications. Approximately 99.98% of all data traffic goes through a Broadcom chip. They are in all the smartphones exist today such as Apple, LG Electronics, and Samsung products. Being one of the Fortune 500 companies, it is named by Fortune as the "Most Innovative Semiconductor Company". Broadcom has decided to transform their old ERP systems from PeopleSoft to SAP, and they have chosen Deloitte as their sole SAP implementing partner. I had joined this project from Jan 2013 to June 2013 to establish a new SAP Business Objects (BOBJ) 4.0 environment for Broadcom. Some of my key roles were:

Understand Broadcom’s existing Business Object environment – currently they have SAP Business Objects 3.1 environment, with a Development and a Production system.

Analyze their future Business Objects needs – how many users are expected to use, and what are the functionalities they are planning to implement.

Plan hardware sizing based on their requirements using SAP Sizing Tools.

Create a format to request for building SAP Business Object servers with detailed specifications for all the hardware needs.

Install and configure SAP Business Objects environment – Sandbox, Development, QA, and Production systems.

Create users and groups in the SAP Business Objects systems, and provide access to the required users.

Create detailed Guide Book providing information related to system requirements, installation, configuration, administration, industry best practices, suggestions and recommendations.

Knowledge-transfer client Business Objects team to bring them up to speed. Environment – SAP Business Objects 4.0 SP5 with Patch 5 on Windows 2008 R2 server Operating System and MS SQL Server 2012 Database with Tomcat 6.0 as web application server on HP hardware.

It is a privately held company founded in 1865, employs over 142,000 people, and spread across 65 countries. In fiscal year 2012, Cargill had $133.9 billion in sales and other revenues. Earnings from continuing operations were $1.17 billion.

Deloitte had been assigned to assess the existing technical architecture of Cargill, discover technical gaps if any, and provide technical solutions to fill the gaps, and I had joined the project as the Technical Architect from October 2012 to January 2013 to understand their overall technical architecture, identify any existing gaps, and provide them appropriate solutions to meet their requirements. Some of my responsibilities were such as:

Gather information about existing infrastructure by meeting various teams and team members.

Review Cargill’s High-Availability / Disaster Recovery requirements list to understand if the current infrastructure meets their requirements or not.

Identify present architectural deficiencies impacting current state High-Availability and DR environments.

Conduct interviews, workshops, and joint sessions with the counterparts, client teams, and individuals.

Review documents provided by client as well as Deloitte team members to better understand the current technical situation of Cargill.

Review Cargill’s existing Change Control processes and suggest measures to improve them.

Provide recommendations based on the deficiencies identified - frame, finalize, and present the deliverable of our final recommendations to the client.

Conduct weekly status update meetings with the client - coordinating the meeting, preparing weekly status update report, and present to the client and Deloitte team. For Puget Sound Energy, Seattle, WA, USA - Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is Washington state's oldest local energy utility company providing electrical power and natural gas primarily in the Puget Sound region of the northwest United States. The utility company serves electricity to more than 1.1 million customers and natural gas to 750,000 customers in Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Pierce, Skagit, Thurston, and Whatcom counties. PSE’s 6,000- square-mile (16,000 km2) electric and natural gas service area covers the largest metropolitan region north of San Francisco and west of Chicago, which owns or controls much of the state's large transmission lines and hydro- electricity generation.

Deloitte has been engaged in a major SAP implementation project for PSE, as a part of which I have been engaged since April 2012 in a Data Center Migration activity to move all the existing production support landscape SAP applications from their Bellevue datacenter to their new project support landscape datacenter located at Bothell, WA.

Establish a proper Change Control process in place to fit for the environment migration

For Aflac, Columbus, GA, USA - Aflac Incorporated is the largest provider of supplemental insurance in the United States, founded in 1955 and based in Columbus, Georgia. In the United States, Aflac underwrites a wide range of insurance policies, but is more known for its payroll deduction insurance coverage, which pays cash benefits when a policyholder has a covered accident or illness. The company states it insures "one of four Japanese households" and is "the largest life insurer in Japan in terms of individual insurance policies in force". Aflac is also well known for its supplemental medical policies. Deloitte Consulting is engaged as the sole implementer for their global implementation of SAP in the USA and Japan operations for Aflac. I had joined the project as the Technology Lead to manage the technology string to support smooth go-live from Feb 2012 to April 2012.

Build onsite and offshore Basis teams.

Coordinate basis activities with the teams located at different locations like USA, Japan, and India.

Configure SAP Transport Management System for migrating changes from one environment to other.

Install and configure Enterprise Performance Management (EPM 10) solutions such as BPC 10 on NetWeaver platform and integrate with BW and ECC systems.

Implement Business Objects Enterprise for BPC authentication.

Perform system copy and application migration of OS, DB, and applications.

Support go-live and post go-live activities.

Smooth transition to AMS for post go-live ongoing support. Environment – The Aflac SAP environment runs on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 platform and includes the SAP systems ECC 6.0 with EhP4, Solution Manager 7.0 with EhP1, BW 7.03, EPM 10, BPC 10, PI/XI 7.1. Project documentation managed with MS SharePoint, and testing managed with HP QC. All SAP systems are running on Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 as operating system and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as the database, hardware on HP VMware and Blade servers.

Deloitte Consulting has been appointed as the sole implementation partner for Topcon’s global SAP migration project from MAS500, and I have joined the Sap implementation project as the Technology Lead from Feb 2011 to Dec 2011, and as the Project Manager for a Datacenter Migration project from Dec 2011 to Feb 2012.

It owns the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales and operates the system across Great Britain. It also owns and operates the high pressure gas transmission system in Britain and its distribution business delivers gas to 11 million homes and businesses. In the US, National Grid delivers electricity to approximately 3.3 million customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island, and manages the electricity network on Long Island under an agreement with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). National Grid owns over 4,000 megawatts of contracted electricity generation that provides power to over one million LIPA customers. They are the largest distributor of natural gas in the northeastern US, serving approximately 3.4 million customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island. Environment – The whole SAP sandbox environment is running on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 platform and includes the SAP systems ECC 6.0 with EhP4, Solution Manager (SOLMAN) 7.0 with EhP1, BW 7.0 with EhP1, e-Recruitment 7.0 with EhP1, SRM 7.0, Enterprise Portal 7.01, Process Integration (PI/XI) 7.1, MDM 7.0, Composite Environment (CE) 7.1, NWDI, GRC, BOBJ 3.1, BPC 7.0, TREX 7.0, Open Text and IDES ECC 6.0 with EhP4. All SAP systems are running on AIX 6.1 as operating system and Oracle 10g as the database, hardware on IBM P Series LPAR servers.

For Michigan State University, Lansing, MI, USA – It was a very short term assignment and I was brought in for 2 weeks in Dec 2009 to perform a QA review on the SAP Portal installation and look at the ESS/MSS configurations and provide a set of recommendations to MSU. My major activities include –

Review Portal architecture (both secured and non-secured).

Review Portal installation and Single Sign-on (SSO) to EBSP applications.

Review Portal content administration for iViews, Worksets, Pages including standard and custom content along with security.

Review Technical Configuration for ESS and MSS including business packages for ESS/MSS, JCo connections, user access to ESS/MSS content.

Review Adobe Document Server installation.

Review System administrative tasks – Transport of portal objects, activity logging, tracing and reporting.

Document detailed recommendation on portal architecture and installation.
