Coordination of Y2K initiative for International Service Centres, Canada
Technical Lead and Project Manager for two initiatives entailing the transfer of Trade Finance processing from Guangzhou and Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Chicago, Ill. to Toronto, Ontario. For each of the foregoing initiatives, customer service levels were maintained or improved and integrity of accounting records was sustained.
For the PRC project, implemented an imaging technology platform and created a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access the Bank’s CWAN, thereby allowing PRC branches to gain access to the required mainframe application. Implementation of this technology also eliminated significant annual telecommunication charges.
With the change from mainframe technology to server technology for the Trade Finance Line of Business, managed the rollout of Personal Computers across Canada, the United States and Asia.
Managed the technical requirements (Voice/Data) for the renovations of the International Operations Centre in Toronto in concert with internal Bank departments, external construction and telecommunications personnel.
