- Led the North American launch and engineering for Uncle Ben’s rice products in microwave pouches. Annual Sales $100MM+.

I knew early on that I wanted to become a supply chain executive. 2012-2014: Innovation Product Supply Chain Director
- Accountable for all internal & external supply chain efforts to get new, innovative products to the marketplace.
- My team launched VUE with $200MM annual sales & Bolt full pot brewing into foodservice with $150MM/year revenue.
- Also provided the initial engineering and supply support for COLD carbonated beverage.
2009-2011: Plant Engineering Manager - Knoxville Plant
- Responsible for site engineering, maintenance, sanitation, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Led build out of virtual green field site. Installed process, high speed packaging, & distribution facilities.
- Fully refitted facility with roasting, grinding, and high-speed K-cup packaging with on-site logistics that is now the flagship
Plant in North America with an associate headcount approaching 1000 and annual capacity of $4 billion in revenue.
Engineering & Business Application Consulting:
2008: Implemented SAP business application software at Mars, Inc. Mars has 30+ sites in North America and the mission was to determine how best to apply this tool, and then implement and teach the application to all key users.
Mars, Incorporated (Confectionery, Ice Cream, Rice Divisions):
1999-2007: Engineering Director @ Uncle Ben’s Rice
- Managed all plant engineering in Canada and the U.S. Responsible for capital budgeting, operating & capacity plans.
- Implemented strategic outsourcing & partnering, reducing annual operating costs by $10MM and asset base by $40MM.
- Led evaluation and transition to very successful/profitable microwaveable pouch technology.
- Also assumed the Plant Manager role over the flagship plant as we developed high-potential talent for assignment.
1997-1998: North America Rice Logistics Director
- Responsible for all logistics, scheduling, capacity planning. Also managed the SIOP process. $25MM/year budget.
- Initiated inventory consolidation, distribution, simplification. Increased inventory turns by 20% in the first year.
- Transitioned production to fewer sites, saving $20 million/year. Also implemented shipping savings of $2.5 million/year.
1985-1996: Various Engineering & Manager Positions
- Held several developmental & contributory roles in the confectionery division. Managed M&Ms scheduling & planning.
