Approval of all accounts receivable exceptions such as credit terms extensions, payment plans, assignment to collection agencies or write off.
Review and approval of all general ledger entries and verify month end cut off accuracy, along with monthly balance sheet account analysis verifying accuracy and integrity. Ensures that activities are in line with key performance indicators and present high level reporting to director.
Act as accounting department representative for all new product roll outs, compliance or banking changes. Assist in the design and determination of correct accounting treatment, policies and general ledger account assignment.
Accomplishments:
Within the first four months worked with IT to enact operating platform changes which facilitated better integration with SAP, thus reducing the number of manual journal entries at month end.
Due to ERP implementation DSO had worsened as there was a shift in focus. Created a strategy to re-focus activity ensuring that this KPI was brought back in line with targets within 2 months.

Responsibilities
Management of end to end, full cycle monthly and year-end accounting and finance, including regulatory compliance for all provinces and all treasury and FX functions.
Preparation and presentation of annual budgets and quarterly forecast to Global Leadership Team and work closely with Local and Corporate executive teams to design strategic direction for our business unit.
Ownership of annual and five month rolling production forecast, working with sales, marketing and factory leads to perform GAP analysis and plan/execute action plans when needed.
Establishment of annual stand cost for budget purpose and monthly monitoring of PPV, with remedial action where necessary. Also responsible for year-end true-up.

This allowed for more time to review key indicators, work with departmental heads to take necessary corrective action on timely basis; and make changes when necessary before final reporting to Head Office.
Improved NWC through improvements in Inventory Management (e.g. SKU rationalization) by instituting more focus on sales forecasting accuracy, accomplished through improving forecasting tools (inventory ABCs) and other measures. This enhancement also resulted in improved customer service as it reduced out of stock.
Recommended implementation of bi-annual Transfer Pricing report to reduced risk of regulatory penalties due to significant purchases from overseas related parties.
