PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
Design and Development (September-December 2014)
-Researched Protein separation using affinity chromatography and self-cleaving inteins
-Performed lab work proving that the separation was possible and economically feasible
Unit Operations Lab (May 2014):
-Delved into 4 extensive labs working with industrial equipment including: distillation column, PFR, fluidized beds, and shell and tube heat exchanger
-Hands on experience with safety methods and evaluations while performing varying separation methods
-Extensive technical report writing was conducted for each lab experiment
Thermodynamics Project Team (March-April 2014):
-Investigated the occurrence of a BLEVE (boiling liquid-evaporating vapor explosion)
-Consisted primarily of research and the use of MATLAB to generate enthalpy graphs
-Based on thermodynamic properties like enthalpy and the laws of thermodynamics, it was found that these theoretical occurrences are possible
Heat and Mass Transport Project Team (March-April 2014):
-Evaluated a 3-D model of heat transfer through human tissue using MATLAB
