SUMMARY

Currently working with M/S Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, Swaraj Division as Manager, Supplier Quality Assurance and In-house heat treatment quality of Q.A function for both Tractor and Harvester Combine Parts.

Having 10 years plus of experience in various facets of quality department, especially in the field of Metallurgy. Mentioned below are the key areas of my profile:

1.Incoming inspection of materials and data analysis for action plan and improvements.

2.Supplier quality systems audit, process and product quality improvement at supplier’s end, supplier evaluation and upgradation, In-house as well as supplier’s cost saving and quality improvement initiatives as projects especially related to design, materials and process improvements. CAPA generation and their closures, etc.

3.Corrosion resistance improvement through various surface treatments like PTC, Paint, Primer, Platings etc. Generation of Inspection, processes and their application standards for mutual supplier sign offs. Manganese phosphate process, quality control and improvement methods for parts undergoing severe wear applications.

4.Responsible for handling the Metallurgy and heat treatment (MHT) lab and is well familiar with the metallurgical testing, analysis and improvements for steels, Castings, heat treated materials (Case carburizing, Induction hardening, Through hardening/toughening). Welding penetration inspection and improvement etc.

5.Millipore testing and improvement of tractor hydraulic parts and in-housed washed parts.

6.Responsible for planning and procurement of equipments for Quality function through CAPEX allotted budget.

BRIEF SUMMARY:

1.Worked with M/S Godrej & Boyce Mfg Corp. Ltd, Mohali as Manager, Quality Engineering Department from May 2007 June2011. The company deals with the manufacturing of latest technology Compressors & Refrigerators.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

1.Independently handling PMQ (Purchase Material Quality) department for both dimensional & metallurgical inspection of incoming materials.

2.Supervising the quality audits of other departments (line audits) for assurance of consistent quality systems being followed.

3.Responsible for suppliers’ development and providing required technical assistance in co-ordination with vendor development unit.

7.Took 4 major projects during the last financial year in Mohali plant’s local PMO for cost and quality improvements in materials and processes which yielded a direct material cost saving of approx 80 lacks/annum and warranty cost reduction by 32 lacks.

8.Competed and Won 2 national awards for quality and cost improvement, Qimpro Sep 2010 and CII, Nov 2010.
