PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

First National Bank of the Rockies-Craig Branch, Craig, Colorado (1/13 to 1/14)

Branch Manager/Loan Officer:

As Branch Manager, I was responsible for handling all day-to-day problems and customer complaints of the branch. As Loan Officer, I managed a mixed portfolio of just under $13 million. I increased the portfolio by $5 million during the year I was employed at the branch. (I chose to take early retirement and pursue other interests.)

Johnhar Insurance, McAllen, Texas (3/10 to 1/13)

Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Peoples National Bank-N. Academy Branch, Colorado Springs, Colorado (6/08 to 3/10)

Vice President / Relationship Manager (Commercial Loan Officer):

I managed a commercial loan portfolio of $19 million. (I was laid off as a result of severe economic recession.)

Johnhar Insurance, McAllen, Texas (10/07 to 6/08)

Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Texas State Bank-10th & Nolana Branch, McAllen, Texas (3/04 to 10/07)

Vice President / Commercial Loan Officer:

From scratch, I built a loan portfolio of $15 million, which included a rolling inventory of $3 million in interim construction loans. (I resigned when TSB was sold to a Spanish bank.)

City National Bank, Weslaco, Texas (4/03 to 3/04)

Vice President / Commercial Loan Officer & Special Assets Manager:

I managed a $10 million loan portfolio, which included most of the bank’s problem credits. I was also responsible for the liquidation of OREO properties. (I left CNB to go to work for Texas State Bank.)

Davco Rig Services, Inc., Buffalo, Texas (2/01 to 8/02)

Officer Manager:

Davco was a start-up oilfield service company. I was responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, purchasing, A/R billings and collections, and dispatching. (The company was closed after the oil boom in the Buffalo area ended.)

Texas Bank, S.S.B., Buffalo, Texas (1/00 to 12/00)

Vice President / Loan Officer:

Texas Bank was a start-up State Savings Bank in a rural town of 1,500 people. I was the only full-time officer in the bank. I generated $8 million in new real estate loans during the year I was employed at TB. (TB and its parent bank were sold shortly after concurrent November 2000 regulatory examinations: TB received a “Satisfactory” rating; the parent bank was downgraded to “Problem Bank” status. The buyer was preoccupied with the problems in the parent bank and expressed little interest in continuing the development of TB. I chose to resign and seek other employment.)

GMAC Mortgage-Austin Branch, Austin, Texas (1998 to 1999)

Mortgage Loan Originator:

This was a temporary job while hunting for a bank job. During my year with GMAC Mortgage, I was the top monthly producer in the Austin Branch on two occasions. (I left GMAC to go to work for Texas Bank.)

Norwest Bank-Alamogordo Branch, New Mexico (1996 to 1998)

Vice President / Business Development Officer III (Commercial Loan Officer):

I managed a loan portfolio of $25 million, assisted the branch President with his large commercial loan analyzes and presentations, and supervised the branch’s Loan Department. Under my direction, the Loan Department’s annual internal Credit performance Review rating was upgraded from “Unsatisfactory” to “Satisfactory.” (I left Norwest Bank and returned home to Texas to take care of personal family-related issues.)

Bank Consultant, Dallas, Texas (1993 to 1996)

External Loan Review & Compliance Specialist:

I performed periodic external loan reviews for eight to ten banks in the North Texas area. (The market dwindled when the bank regulators allowed banks to once again perform their own internal loan reviews. Consulting jobs became harder to find, and I returned to banking.)

Irving National Bank, Irving, Texas (1991 to 1993)

Vice President / Commercial Loan Officer:

INB was a $25 million community bank under Formal Agreement with the National Bank Examiners (OCC). I was hired to turn the bank around. Under my supervision, the classified loans were restructured and/or eliminated; the loan department, policies, and procedures were revamped; and an SBA loan program was put into place. Within eight months, the bank was again showing a healthy profit and was removed from its Formal Agreement; within eighteen months, the bank’s CAMEL Ratings were upgraded, and the bank was removed from the OCC’s problem Bank List. (My job at INB was a temporary assignment. After completing my task, I left to pursue other business interests.)

National Bank Examiner (OCC)-Dallas Field Office, Dallas, Texas (1986 to 1991)

Commissioned National Bank Examiner:

I served as Examiner-in-Charge at numerous commercial examinations of community national banks in the North Texas area. (I left the OCC to go to work at Irving National Bank.)

Grand Bank, N.A.-Woodall Rodgers Branch, Dallas, Texas (1984 to 1986)

Vice President / Commercial Loan Officer:

I serviced a small loan portfolio and assisted the branch President with credit analyzes, loan presentations, and servicing of his larger commercial and real estate lines. (My position was eliminated as a result of a major recession. I was immediately rehired by the OCC.)

InterFirst Bank-Irving Branch, Irving, Texas (1982 to 1984)

Vice President / Loan Review Officer:

I performed all of the internal loan reviews for the Irving branch, which had a loan portfolio of $100 million. (I left after receiving a job offer from Grand Bank. FYI: All of the InterFirst banks were closed and sold by FDIC several years after I left. To the very end, the examiners considered the Irving branch to be an exceptionally clean, well-run bank.)

National Bank Examiners (OCC)-Dallas Field office, Dallas, Texas (1977 to 1982)

National Bank Examiner:

I participated in numerous commercial examinations (looking at both the operation and loan side of the banks) and compliance reviews of community national banks in the North Texas area. I was commissioned in September 1981. (I left after receiving a job offer from InterFirst Bank.)
