This project dealt with the development of a secure web portal to enable the authorized vendors to have fast and access to patient’s electronic health records. The project also involved implementation of Claims processing module which involved Receipt and Verification of Claim Forms (837) and Claims Attachments (275), Claims Enquiry and Response (276/277), Adjudication, Healthcare Claim Payment/Advice (835) as per HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Conducted JAD sessions with all stakeholders including development team/technical team to drive out detailed business requirements for the Claim Processing system.

Involved in requirements gathering, identifying and preparing Use Cases, creating Traceability matrix and tagging it in the Rational Requisite Pro.

Under hipaa, EDI transactions gradually replace paper based transactions, the risk of losing documents, encountering delays, and paper chasing is minimized.

Transactions are processed in version 4010 and upgraded 5010 in EDI format.

MODULE1: 837 PROFESSIONAL, institutional, dental: written the scripts in ANSI ASCX12 standard and processed the claims for professional, institutional, dental claims in 4010 and 5010 versions

MODULE2: 835: health care claim payment/advice: purpose of sending/receiving electronic remittance advice in 4010 and 5010 versions

The objective of this project is to provide the tools for certifying the origin of the file where it come from.

When transferring important documents electronically, it is often necessary to certify in a reliable way who is actually the sender (author) of a given document. One approach for certifying the origin of documents and files is by using the so-called digital signature (electronic signature).The digital signing of documents uses public key cryptography as a mathematical base. This project developed in Java to provide a tool which is platform independent. It uses the concept of multi-threading.
