Plant Manager
Managed concrete block and paver manufacturing facility supplying big box stores and commercial and residential construction. Directed four facility production plants including a block plant for architectural masonry, a paver and patio plant, a tumbler plant for antiquing stone, and a high end polishing plant. Maintained facility Production, Safety, Quality Control, Maintenance, Distribution, Procurement, Customer Service and Human Resources. Ensured site P&L for annual sales budget of $20 million. Implemented site TPM program and CMMS system and metrics. Controlled facility finances and cost exceeding budgeted PBIT.
Achievements:
Launched $750,000 capital campaign to modernize plants obsolete polishing machine line. New line improved production by 200% and allowed specialized product manufacturing unavailable in the region. Captured $1 million contract to construct new Baylor football stadium.
Developed $800,000 capital project to expand kiln storage capacity to increase architectural masonry line production. Increased production hours from 15 hours to 22 hours daily and from 6000 cycles to 9000 a day.
Increased employee participation in safety programs and initiatives. Established safety steering committee to develop safety incentive program based on employee participation. Allowed employees to take the lead developing safety improvement programs.
