I am a Civil Engineer in Construction with 11 years experience in industrial mining projects and 10 years experience in multi-storey constructions. Currently, I hold the position of Projects Manager for the Ministro Hales Division of Codelco Chile. During the last 7 years, I have returned to the Mining Mega-Projects industry, holding various posts: Projects Manager, Contract Administrator, and Supervising Engineer for Projects. My career began in the construction of large buildings and the execution of civil works, working as Site Manager, Construction Manager, Works Administrator, and Coordinator of Building Projects.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
October, 2012, to date: In November, 2013, I assumed the position of Projects Manager, leading the construction of the Roasting Plant Area Projects for the new Changing Room Complex and Dining Facilities and taking charge of the administration of the construction contract for the completion of the Divisional non-Process installations, the conceptual phase of the sample libraries, the truck shop extension and the scope definition for the engineering companies involved. Also under my supervision are the Projects for extraction and discharge system for the pit water, the hygiene laboratory, the CCTV network and the access control for the mining Division.
At the beginning of October, 2013, I was named as the Supervising Engineer for Projects. The position fundamentally entails the conceptualization, development and definition of the Projects on site as well as the leadership of the execution of the erection and construction contracts which support the operation and maintainability of the Primary and Secondary Milling processes, the Concentrator Plant, Flotation, Regrinding, Filtration and Roasting. The position also requires involvement in the technical support and supervision of the civil and erection works of the Crushing Plant of the Oxides Project, the impulsion and injection of acid into the raffinate, and impulsion of the PLS to the PTMP Plant
July, 2009, to September, 2012: ANTOFAGASTA MINERALS, ESPERANZA MINE. Project Engineer and Contract Administrator with general responsibility for the development, definition and drafting of site requirements, construction contracts, technical specifications, proposals, and Technical and Administrative Conditions for contract bidding. The position also entails supporting the award process and administrating the contract execution, ensuring that the work is carried out within the time frame and budget established by the internal client or process owner. The successful execution of projects includes: provisional bypass road for Route B229 – B233, installation of the administrative offices, site urbanization and construction of the access control infrastructure, installation of the drinking water sewage matrices for the Mine Control Room and mobile dining facilities, disposal site for non-toxic domestic and industrial residues (in compliance with sanitary and environmental legislation), evaluation and preparation of technical and budgetary details for licitation of construction of Wing 5 of the Operations Camp, distribution system for thickened tailings, civil works, supervision of alignment and planning of raking system and start- up of Tailings Thickeners TK1 & TK2, normalization and start-up of bridge cranes, monorails and hoists for services in Milling Plant, Flotation and Concentrate Thickeners, support and supervision of shell change-over on SAG Mill, direction and supervision of civil works, construction and erection of Pre-crushing Plant.
March, 2007, to June, 2009: PazCorp. Works Administrator for the construction of the Allegro residential tower block in Nuñoa, Santiago, - 17,100m2, 680t rebar, 7,200m3 de concrete, three elevators, 5 underground levels, 24 floors of 500m2, high-standard terminations, full electrical installation, solar panels, 500 kVa generators and water impulsion system; the workforce consisted of 800 labourers, 350 direct and 450 sub-contractors. Included in the scope of duties were the negotiation and administration of sub-contractors for such specialist tasks as anchoring foundation tensioners, massive mechanical excavation, sanitary and electrical installations, air conditioning systems, elevators, and waste disposal systems, and tradesmen such as carpenters, plasters, glazers, metal workers and decorators.

May, 1995, to July, 1996:
Technical Inspector of the first stage of “Residencia de Parque”, Santiago, for the company “Inmobiliaria la Palma Ltda.” The construction was carried out by DESCO S.A. and had a budget of UF 185,000 for an area of 13,000m2 (8,900m2 of apartments and 3,100 of underground parking and storage areas.)
