Aim : To develop a GPS/GSM based Tracking Device

Description :

1.It use to take GPS data from GPS module and sends it to server with many other parameters(ignition status,mobilization status,battery status,fuel status temperature etc.) of the vehicle .

2.It is having GPS,GSM,MMC,MCU Accelerometer,Serial Flash .It has a feature of taking its location name in words using http connection and calling Google reverse geo coding API.

3.It has a very good feature of updating it’s firmware over the air called FOTA. in this feature a reprogramming message is sent from the controlling no. with server IP (which is having the new hex file) and it’s access information. After getting this message unit make FTP connection with server and download the new hex file into its flash or MMC card and then validate it then converts this hex file into pages and then enters in boot loader section for programming the application section.

4.It supports AGPS if GPS is not valid in GPS blind areas like underground parking etc.

5.It can receive Call and SMS and can respond to various queries.

6.It has motion sensor which takes it in sleep mode (GPS OFF,ADC OFF GSM sleep, MCU sleep, GPRS data sending stop etc.) when vehicle is static.
