Corps Member, AmeriCorps NCCC, Southern Region-Vicksburg, MS February 2015-November 2015 Served with AmeriCorps NCCC doing community service projects in the Southern U.S. Was responsible for getting media coverage on AmeriCorps team, River 3. Achieved over twenty media hits from local and state media outlets including an interview from Fox 10 News out of Mobile, Alabama. Created and sent three different press releases to over thirty media outlets. Received Corps Member of the Round award, Team of the Year award, Presidents Volunteer Service Award, and Congressional Award for Service.

Project Homecoming, New Orleans, LA

Constructed a single story, 1,150 square foot home’s frame, interior walls and roof. At another residence, 1,100 square feet in size, installed five, two by four foot windows, built four exterior walls, and hung 200 feet of exterior trim along the home’s roof. Led seven small teams of other volunteers on those tasks. Palmetto Conservation Foundation, Wedgefield, SC

Using chainsaws, axes, and loppers, 90 hazardous trees and branches were cut down to clear 6.5 miles of trail. Repaired five, four-foot patches of trail by filling them in with dirt and clay. Primed two bedrooms 10 x 11 feet and 11 x 9 feet in one of the park’s cabins.

Bay Area Food Bank, Mobile, AL

Came up with a more efficient way to resolve the issue of inadequate and slow food distribution in the Bay Area. Installed new equipment, signage, and designed a new layout. By the end of six weeks my team managed and sorted over 40,000 pounds of food, which would feed over 64,000 people. We took their two-month backlog and brought the to present day. Besides food sorting, my team prepped and created eleven satellite gardens for the community. Work Experience

Maintenance Assistant at Ligonier Telephone Company, Ligonier, IN April 2014-August 2014 Managed two acres of ground by mowing, edging, cutting weeds, and trimming shrubs and trees. Power washed and painted a two-story, 30 by 60 foot pole barn square feet. Sanded and painted twenty-two shutters, and exterior trim on a 1,500 square foot home. Repaired and/or removed and replaced caulking sixteen windows and two doors. Power washed and painted a 50-foot pier.
