Cover Letter

Good Day,

Along with my resume, I am pleased to provide insight into my experiences and achievements. Especially those applicable to the broad capabilities required for this position.

As illustrated in my resume, I have extensive experience in engineering, operations and sales. I have been the facility manager as well as the regional sales representative for my last two companies in particular. I have negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with some of the largest corporations in the automotive and construction sectors. I have created and managed numerous processing lines for the automotive and construction sectors. This required allocation of appropriate machinery, manpower and tooling in the manufacture of a variety of goods. Among them are high profile projects such as Duramax Diesel Camshafts and GM GEN IV Camshafts. My extensive experience with lean manufacturing ensures that elements of waste are aggressively sought out and eliminated in the production and administration of my products. My training and experience as Lean Manufacturing Manager is a true asset that has guided me in maximizing profitability and quality of any product I am in charge of. I have a long track record of managing and motivating diverse teams throughout my career, whether they were managers, engineers, technicians or floor personnel. My leadership style is one of competent and considerate direction with the focus on a team environment.

I am flexible to oversee a variety of operations with a history of managing a multiple site business with a total of four sites at one time. Subsequently directing the outputs of as many as 65 team members in a variety of disciplines. I believe you will see that my cross-departmental experience in operations, engineering, lean and sales will make an excellent fit for this position. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Thank you,

-Sean Michael (Mike) Smith
