CRDA is the umbrella organization of over a hundred Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) involved in development, rehabilitation and relief activities. Responsible for evaluation and monitoring of micro development projects submitted for funding by NGO's, government bodies and International Organizations and Associations. Identified and prepared development project profiles for specific areas to be implemented by suitable NGO's.

Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)

Responsible for consultation and research on areas of concern to CIDA. Submitted two research documents for Agency:
1. "Structure of Ethiopian Government and its Functions".
2. "Social Development in Ethiopia since 1974".

Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Responsible for establishing the Coordination Office by establishing and writing of about fifty different job profiles. Supervised relief provisions for 100,000 Southern Sudanese refugees in Western Ethiopia. Coordinated logistics of relief supplies and construction of shelter, health and education facilities. Responsible for financial and administrative management of a budget of over six million US Dollars.

2/81 to 2/82 - HEAD OF EUROPEAN DEPARTMENT
Responsible for supervision of Eastern and Western Europe Divisions of Department. Prepared daily briefings to Minister. Issued staff guidelines and supervised correspondence. Analyzed bilateral issues with Ambassadors. Formulated discourse for Head of State for presentation to visiting dignitaries. Prepared position papers and Minister's speech (on European aspect) for UN General Assembly meetings. Gave foreign policy briefs to delegations going to Europe.
Member and Rapporteur of a high-level government delegation to Northern Europe and EEC member countries.

Head of Delegation to Committee V during the 34th UN General Assembly Session. Head of Delegation to Committee II Non-Aligned Foreign Minister's Conference in New Delhi, India. Deputy Head of Delegation of a good will mission in Vietnam. Deputy Head of delegation, on a first time diplomatic visit to Syria led by Foreign Minister, for discussions with Syrian Head of State and Foreign Minister.

As Head of Mission responsible for running Ethiopian Embassy in London including daily information dispatch to international news media (like the BBC) on the Ethiopia-Somalia war and internal strife in Ethiopia.

Responsible for running of Ethiopian Embassy in Rome and The Holy See (after Ethiopian Embassy of Vatican was closed). Education attaché to Southern European Countries. Accredited to the Order of Malta in Rome. Ethiopian representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
3/71 to 10/74 - SENIOR EXPERT
Neighboring countries, Middle East and Organization of African Unity (OAU) Department
Responsible for preparation of position papers and briefing documents on region. Working visits to countries of region. Member of Ethiopian Delegation to all OAU Heads of States, Foreign Ministers and Liberation Committees meetings from 1971 to 1974. Deputy Head of delegation to 4th OAU. African High Command Meeting. Mostly responsible for writing Head of State and Foreign Minister's keynote speeches to the above meetings.
2/70 to 3/71 - HEAD OF DJIBOUTI SECTION Africa and Middle East Department
Several working visits to the then colonial Territory of Afars and Issas (Djibouti). Worked closely with the liberation movement assisted by Ethiopia. Drafted strategies for the liberation of the Territory. Negotiated and co-signed memorandum of understanding with leaders of two liberation movements fighting for the independence of Djibouti.
9/66 to 2/69 - LEGAL ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF LEGAL ADVISOR

Compiled the first Ethiopian bilateral and multi-lateral treaties (from mid 19th century to date).
Adjudicated disputes between foreign diplomatic staff and Ethiopian nationals. Served as member of "Naturalization Committee".
