Engineering Department-Mechanic Generalist
Performed a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and general maintenance duties while using
various heavy mechanical equipments.
Replaced or repaired defective flush valves, faucet and toilet washers and packing; stops leaks in
joints by tightening; replaces short lengths of pipe; cleans clogged pipe lines using a snake, force
cup, or chemicals, while maintained drive belts, adjusts motors, pumps, and compressors, lubricates
and checked heating, cooling, or ventilating systems for proper operation daily.
Replaced broken or defective light switches, sockets, outlets, bulbs, fixtures, fluorescent tubes, and
starter, patches broken asphalt and concrete and plaster surfaces; replaces loose bricks or ceramic
tile, paint shelves, cabinets, and furniture; does touch-up painting on interior and exterior surfaces;
repaint parking lot stripes and parking bumpers, also maintained parking lots, made minor roof
repairs, operated and maintained furnaces and low pressure boilers.
Assisted with the cleaning and unclogging of sewer lines, manholes, and catch basins, while keeping
streets gutters clean around the hospital, including patching holes, trash pick-up, brushed loads
debris onto trucks.
Assisted in the laying of sewer and water lines and making connections, building catch basins for
brick, rocks and concretes as needed.
Replaced glass in windows, doors, and partitions that included minor sheet metal work, making and
instillation of shelves, cabinets and chair rails, hanging pictures and bulletin boards, repaired
scratches and scuffs on hospital furniture and woodwork, fixed poorly fitting doors, windows, or
drawers to include wood flooring repairs. Ground maintenance work included: cultivates, prunes, sprays, and trimming of trees and shrubs,
grass cutting and pulling of weeds by hand, tools and mowers.

General repair work involved, rough carpentry and painting tasks, construction of building’s moves
and relocating of bleachers and other equipment for special events and hospital functions and
activities.
