Was general foreman at two work sites in Great Barrington, MA (Local 42 IBEW area) and Southbridge, MA, both performing construction to prepare for third party attachment for National Grid. Responsible for staffing, work coordination, dig safe, other utility notifications, circuit tagging, and energized work clearances. Arrange for adding and/or reducing vehicle fleet as required. 2009-2010 New Energy Alliance, M J Electric Company, Marlborough, MA:

In the position of Transmission Line Construction Manager my responsibilities included managing two large Transmission reconstruction projects on National Grid properties in Western MA. The first was an eleven mile reconductoring of a double Circuit 115kV line on steel lattice towers. The project included adding structural steel reinforcement and civil foundation improvement for added strength for the added tensions. This project also involved removing and replacing of the 115 Kv lines and feeds into Flag Pond substation for Unitil Co., requiring the switching and alternating the feeds to keep the station in operation during the construction as well as phasing the new circuits upon return to service. The other was a refurbishment of a 230kV wood pole single circuit line with structure and hardware replacement/upgrades. The line was done “Live Line” also called bare hand work, as the line was alive at full voltage. Other responsibilities included daily time reporting, supply requirements, equipment ordering, and optimizing operations and scheduling of weekly and monthly activity and milestones. Day to day interactions took place with on site superintendents, foremen, and crews. Also responsible to prepare reports and provide feedback to upper management as well as to client company officials. Require to respond to any and all customer and/or abutter issues. In this lead position I was responsible for all aspects of Safety including accident reporting, investigation, and holding regular safety meetings as well as any updates or mandated safety materials required to be provided to the crews. Travel and overnight stays were required as well as managing all of my own expense reports along with tools and equipment purchases. All scope changes and extras were presented by me at weekly update meetings as well as outage scheduling.

2007-2009 NSTAR Electric Company, Yarmouth, MA:

Responsibilities include supervising and managing large capacity projects including overhead, underground, conversions, system automation projects on distribution as well as transmission. Upgrade and perform maintenance on 115kV and 345kV systems, including tower replacement on both mono pole steel single and double circuit, and wood H frame construction. Re-insulation project installing polymer insulators to replace porcelain, install 80kV lighting arrestors and 115kV SEECO switches on both wood and steel construction in horizontal and vertical configurations. Assigned to a supervisory group charged with designing and developing structured safety imitative training program. Instructed 1081 employees in 8 districts on modules regarding basic power distribution, switching and tagging, grounding, both distribution and transmission, and insulate and isolate methods. Receive the Electric Operations Safety Leadership Award for exemplary safety record. Supervise large reconductoring and road widening projects at voltages from 4kV to 25kV. Work with four other supervisors to provide scheduling, stock ordering and interaction for logistics of material. Work with customer service representatives, customer’s representatives, contractors, union representatives, and other required interaction to accommodate projects with other company scheduling. Responsibilities also included substation work establishing by-pass lines for high side feeds and getaways. Splitting an existing buss as to create dedicated buss and breakers for the three submarine cables feeding out of Falmouth substation to Martha’s Vineyard. Installing new dedicated getaways with reclosers and coordinate those lines through S&C Vista gear. Other Substation work to include replacing a lighting damage unit in Falmouth 115/25 Kv, as well as support work to install a second unit with associated buss, breakers and getaways. Other Substation work included reconductoring and terminating into various substations, OPGW cable for system communications. Additional duties involved responding to substation issues and security as well as first responder to a station breach in Maspee with contact and serious injury resulting and full incident report. Provide supervision for mutual aide response to outside requesting companies with NSTAR Line crews to provide post-storm restoration. Conduct both ground and helicopter patrols of Cape, Plymouth, and New Bedford Transmission lines. Coordinate required notifications and oversee helicopter repair of static wire and aviation markers over the Cape Cod Canal. Provide off-hour coverage and facilitate necessary call in response to all levels of response, and manage the incident to the proper level of repair. Conduct safety meetings and safety stand downs as needed with peers and union employees regarding new information, close calls, and industry accidents. Provide the district with accident investigation and provide review and supporting information. Follow up by taking any required post accident action including corrective action or required discipline.

2005-2007 Sr. Supervisor Electric Operations, Cape and Vineyard Divisions:

Responsibilities include supervising and managing large capacity projects including overhead, underground, conversion projects, system automation projects. Install all types of overhead line construction and/ or reconstruction to coincide with other construction projects and road widening jobs. Upgrade existing and split circuit loads to accommodate new engineering designs. Meet with and coordinate all aspects and requirements of the aforementioned projects, with purchasing, contract management, stores, contractor representatives, and municipal officials and project principals. Conduct activity to include meeting customer schedules for new customer projects and system required schedules and deadlines. Responsible for the repair of submarine cable repair work on both paper in lead, and solid die electric cable. Arranging and negotiating circuit outages for customer requirement and load shifting proposes. Coordinate on-call duty rooster list with responsibility to call in the appropriate union personnel to repair after hour response to system conditions. 2002-2005 Sr. Supervisor Electric Operations, New Bedford Division:

Conduct and oversee the operation of the underground and overhead activities of the division. Operate a network underground with networked Substations. Performed reconstruction of the Cross Rd. substation 115/13.2 when it was catastrophically failed when damage by lighting. Set new temp site for replacement unit, constructed temp high side structure and new underground getaways. Other additional responsibility, Lead Foreman for the rebuild of the Freetown substation 34.5/13.2, rebuild structure establish breaker install and switch bays, and associated getaways. Completed project including finial switching and commissioning. Interact with other company entities to complete projects and customer requirements. Assign daily work load and determine best case utilization of manpower to accomplish the division’s workload. Process job orders and time reporting on a daily basis. Meet with municipal officials and project principals to facilitate project deadlines and required activities. Conduct employee evaluations for subordinate supervisors.
