Working here as Commissioning and Start-up Engineer with following responsibilities,
Review of the final issue of PID’s from point of view of commissioning and start-up.
Identification of systems and sub-systems by marking up of PFD’s and PID’s – system definition.
Preparation of operating manuals in cooperation with the Process Department, Process Licensors and Vendors.
Development of pre-commissioning & commissioning procedures (air blowing, chemical cleaning, water flushing philosophies, E&I test and functional test, refractory drying, catalyst and adsorbents loading, steam blowing, etc.).
Development of scope of work for chemical cleaning of special equipments such as steam boilers, well control panel’s, amine systems, compressors suction lines, etc.. Technical evaluation of sub-contractors bids for work packs.
Development of safety procedures to be used during pre-commissioning & commissioning activities such as tagging, vessels entry for inspections, isolation & blind installation procedures and work permit procedures in collaboration with HSE department.
Preparation of performance test procedures in collaboration with licensors and engineering department.
Review, update and develop detailed start-up sequence, procedures and operating manuals.
Preparation and update of commissioning progress reports, minutes of meetings.
Agritech Fertilizers(Pak-American Fertilizer Ltd.), Iskandarabad ( 2011 – 2014)
Pak American Fertilizers Limited is the most efficient and economical Fertilizer Plant of Pakistan. It is producing 600/1050 MTPD Ammonia/Urea, 2400 MTPD Ultra Quality Demineralized water & 3600 MTPD Superheated Steam for 23 MW power generation.
Worked as Field Engineer at Ammonia Plant, Ammonia Plant is the most economical and efficient plant in the region which has the latest technology of horizontal convertor and refrigeration unit.
Worked as Process Engineer at Utility section of Plant, efficiently handle water treatment units, Demineralization & Polished water unit, fire water systems, chemical handling for water treatment,, Boilers, Steam Distribution, Nitrogen Plant, Air Compressors, Cooling Tower and Raw Water Pumping Station.
Preparation of system definitions for utilities and Power House.
To coordinate and work closely with consultants, contractors and vendors.
Training and growth of Graduate Trainee Engineers and Apprentice Operators.
Staff development, succession planning and performance appraisal.
Preparation and review for operation manuals, procedures, log sheets and Checklists.
Supervision, inspection and modification of the system.
Development and modifications of SOPs.
Loading/Unloading & handling of Catalysts.
Agritech Fertilizers - HPFL, Haripur ( 2009 – 2011)
Working as Operation Engineer at Sulfuric Acid and Water Treatment Plants, responsible for smooth operation, breakdown handling, control of process parameters, manpower management with an emphasis on plant capacity enhancement and quality control.
To ensure that both qualitative and quantitative targets are met and consumption ratios are well within budget.
Working closely with chemical engineers to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of a plant.
Excellent hand on experience at DM Plant, cooling water, steam generation, BFW & air compressors.
Monitor process and quality parameters. Troubleshooting and corrective action wherever required.
Manpower deployment and planning for leaves and rotation in shifts.
Initiate proper start up and shut down activities for planned and unplanned shutdowns/startups.
Generation of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports (plan for operational & maintenance activities).
Generation of FIRs (Failure information reports) for all the process plant shutdown/stoppages.
Working in Oracle based ERP system, allowing technical and business reports for different work area within the plant, location, Organizational unit, Machines and downtime analysis for each different categories or machines.
My major achievements at Agritech Fertilizers are;
Modification of water treatment unit to increase equipment life and quality of treated water.
Participated in catalyst loading and unloading of Desulfurization unit.
Commissioning and start-up of carbon dioxide removal system from Benfield Solution System to AMDEA Solution System.
Actively participated in plant capacity enhancement from 100 TPD to 115 TPD of Sulfuric Acid Plant and 300 MTPD to 450 MTPD of Single Super Phosphate Plant.
Erection and Commissioning of Grinding Mills(Roller Mills)
Erection and Commissioning of Two Instrument Air Compressors and Dryers (Atlas Capco, 8.5 Bar each )
Erection and Commissioning of Finned Type Heat Exchanger to utilize surplus steam, by product of SAP Plant which reduces fuel consumption up to 40 %.
Erection and Commissioning of Waste Heat Boiler (20 bar and 10 ton/hr).
Capacity enhancement of Demineralization plant up to 500 MTPD.
Installation of CRC which reduced plant emission and meet the international standard (1800 ppm).
Condensate collection system of Sulphuric acid plant.
