Bachelors in Computer Engineering
Technical Proficiency
Programming – C, C++, Java, ASP.Net, Python, QBasic, JavaME, JSP, PHP, JQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, Ajax.
Tools & Technologies – CakePHP, Apache Solr, Eclipse, Hadoop, Map-Reduce, NetBeans, Cassandra, Pig, Hive, Maven, UNIX Shell Scripting, AMPPS, GIT, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Work Experience
Web Engineer Intern – 2M Companies Inc. (Aug 2014 – May 2015) – During my internship I was working on developing and deploying new features on the company’s website which was built according to the MVC architecture. I was using the CakePHP framework along with AMPPS and working on both front-end & backend aspects of the application. One of the major tasks given to me was to enhance efficiency of the
“search” functionality of the website which I did by integrating it with an Apache Solr server instance. Academic Projects
Big Data – Hadoop Map Reduce - Implemented various map reduce patterns to derive statistics from IMDB movie data using the Hadoop framework.
Web Content Management System (CMS) – Developed a CMS for students using PHP and MySQL in backend to manage large volumes of student records. To protect data from unauthorized access, RBAC
(Role Based Access Control) was implemented in the system and data was encrypted at rest in the backend.
Network Design Model (JAVA) - Implemented “Flyod Warshal” algorithm to determine shortest path between a user entered source & destination nodes on a weighted network. Graph theory concepts were used to design the network.
3-tier B2C Application (SOA-Service Oriented Architecture) – Developed an E-commerce web application with SOAP and REST web services along with implementing data replication, memcaching, compression, asynchronous call, sharding and load balancing.
Data Analytics using Pig, Hive and Cassandra – Implemented various Pig, Hive & Cassandra queries to fetch data based on user defined constraints.
Exhaustive Enumeration –The aim of this project was to do analysis of link reliabilities in a given network and study its effect on the overall Network Reliability.
Social Interaction Server (JAVA) - Developed a client-server chat application which would enable logged-in users to perform individual as well as group chat.
Implementing DVMRP (Distance Vector Multicast Routing) – The task was to have a set of processes to communicate with each other via files using DVMR protocol.
Integrating Datasets using Semantic Web Technologies-The project was to use multiple sets of semantically enabled data already available at LOGD (Linking Open Government Data). The project required understanding the semantic representation of some of the data sources and creating a user representation that uses triples from multiple data sets to represent knowledge not present in any single set.
Inventory Management System (C++ on Linux platform) -Developed an inventory management system for a local drug store which handled various workflows like invoice generation, stock management, billing and shipping process, customer registration and management etc. Achievements
Board member (2009-11) of the Computer Society of India (CSI) chapter at University of Mumbai.
Participated in various online programming competitions using platforms like Topcoder, Codeforce and SPOJ.
Delivered a talk at a seminar organized by University of Mumbai on “Security in Android Operating System” focusing on the different architecture security concepts of the Android OS.
State Level Soccer player (2005-09).
