EDUCATION
Georgia Institute of Technology
M.S. Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.0/4.0 December 2015
• Major area: CAE and Design
• Minor area: Automation and mechatronics
B.S. Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.4/4.0 May 2014
EXPERIENCE
LP Amina, Beijing, China May 2014 – August 2014
Product Development Engineer Intern
Developed 3D models of nozzles and burners for Zhangshan and Juhua power plants’ NOx emission control and reduction project using Solidworks, and converted models into engineering drawings for manufacturing purposes
Analyzed catalyst properties for SCR ammonia system based on data given by catalyst suppliers using Excel
Generated mathematical models that predict the catalyst volumes needed to be used in future low NOx projects
Developed an innovative zigzag separator to separate silicon powder from coal-silicon powder mixture
Created a 3D model of Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG) using Solidworks from the sketch of the R&D department in order for the R&D to discuss the feasibility for development
Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Atlanta GA January 2014 – May 2014
Senior Capstone Design Project-- Mechanical Design Lead
Drafted design proposal that won the sponsorship project (washroom trash compactor) from Kimberly-Clark
Developed conceptual designs through detailed and fine hand drawings and 3D modeling using AutoCAD Inventor.
Designed and built a prototype of washroom trash compacter in public washrooms to relieve overflow of paper towels and saved janitorial time and cost
Led the team to create a test fixture and found the relationship of required force vs. trash loads, and required force vs. desired compacting ratios
Fabricated a working prototype using waterjet cutter, drill press and bandsaw
Integrated CAD and FEA Project, Atlanta GA January 2014 – May 2014
Team Lead
Designed a dolphin-like personal submarine that has segmented tail connected by motorized joints to achieve faster and easier maneuver under water
Modeled the main parts of the watercraft using Unigraphics NX
Conducted FEA analysis on the mechanical properties of the key components and located maximum strain
Determined the causes of localized strain and stress
Modified and improved the physical attributes and mechanism of the parts according to the FEA results
