RESEARCH

EXPERIENCE

Delivering Smart Payload with Micro-Scale Wingsuit [Aug. 2014 – Present] Research Assistant at Georgia Tech Center of Advanced Machine Mobility z The research topic was improved from the trajectory simulation of M866 fin stabilized projectile with respect to six-degree of freedom dynamics model.

z To design, build and fly a micro-scaled wingsuit for research purposes including simulation, prototyping with 3D printer and flight testing.

z The process involves the skills such as the problem solving, software (Solidworks, Matlab, C 3D printing technology, and related advanced aerospace theories. Installation of Motion Position System in Wind Tunnel [Jan. 2015 – Present] Project Coordinator

z Replace current manually-control balance with new computer-aid balance in existing wind tunnel. z Involves assembling and disassembling of the Motion Position System (MPS), setting up and testing of the data acquisition and control system, redesigning the wind tunnel to fit in the new balance, and final test of the wind tunnel with new balance.

z Real engineering project includes problem-solving of electricity, civil architecture and aerodynamics. Penn State Sailplane Research Team [Jan. 2012 – May 2014] Research Assistant on Flight Testing and Propulsion z Built, tested, and verified modern high-performance human powered aircraft in order to improve hands-on manufacture skills and software design skills.

z Exchanged ideas and solutions with students across America in annual aircraft design competitions. Undergraduate Honors Thesis [Aug. 2012 – May 2014] Topic: New Propeller Design for Human Powered Aircraft z Increased propulsion efficiency by designing a new propeller for the Penn State human powered aircraft. Process included designing, analyzing, manufacturing and testing propellers. z Presented at the AIAA Regional Student Conference and published research paper before graduation. WORK AND

PROJECT

EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate Teaching and Researching Experiences in Engineering [Dec. 2012 – May 2014] Teaching Mentor

z Taught “assertion-evidence” presentation structure in first-year engineering design seminars every semester. z Instructed students how to give effective engineering presentations and to achieve efficient teamwork. Rube Goldberg Machine Contest [Aug. 2011 – March 2014] Team Captain (2nd year) and Group Leader (1st and 3rd years) z Organized, led and managed the project from design, implementations to building, testing, and the competitions. Obtained practical experiences on critical thinking skills and hands-on experiences. z Won 2nd and 4th places in 2012 and 2013 Penn State Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. HONORS,
