Duties:
Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with specifications, statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulations and other contractual requirements with due regards to safety, operability and maintainability
Managing the projects from conception, pre-production through to completion. Providing technical support to the project team and wider regional teams.
Responsibilities in Maintenance
oResponsible for maintenance and repair of plant equipment coordination with operation staff.
oDeveloped and implemented strategies like plant surveillance, lubrication schedule, preventive maintenance schedule and condition monitoring to enhance plant availability and improved service factor.
oResponsible for maintaining and availability of spares for all plant equipment by carrying out critical spares inventory, introduction of new stocks and management of spares.
oResponsible for inspection of spares inventory materials.
oResponsible for carrying out day to day maintenance by scheduling job, reservation of material, failure reporting and maintaining repair history.
oDuring emergencies or shutdown of units, is responsible for the coordination of all activities.
oEnsure proper documentation and logging of breakdowns, shutdowns and continuous improvement records.
oCoordinate with production and operation for well-organized production operation.
oResponsible for the safety in all activities related to mechanical jobs including jobs related to external contractors.

To monitor, review and, where required, approve the mechanical construction activities of the EPC Contractors to ensure that all mechanical construction activities are carried out safely and fully in accordance with Company's HSE and technical requirements.
Ensuring that the work is carried out on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality requirements.
To carry out regular HSE audits and inspections, both ad-hoc and formal, of the contractors facilities and operations and to ensure that HSE standards are maintained at the highest levels.
Prepare audit and inspection reports and ensure that action items are promptly followed up by the contractors. Issue Unsafe Act Reports as and when required and ensure that these are promptly followed up and closed out by the contractors.
Ensure that appropriate safety procedures are implemented during the execution of the work, which will include the review of method statements as well as witnessing at site.
Participate in toolbox talks relating to mechanical construction activities carried out by the contractors.
Ensure that the contractors adhere to the Contract specifications and that any deviations are reviewed and approved by appropriate authority
Liaise with the project Mechanical Engineer on technical issues as and when required.
Ensure that all materials used by the contractors are in accordance with the specifications.
Monitor Mechanical activities and ensure adequate Contractor resources to ensure optimum progress of the work in the mechanical discipline.
Work closely with the Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the implementation of the Project QA/QC Plan.
Implement the Company Quality Assurance Plans through the checking, witnessing and recording of the quality activities as described within the Plans.
Witness all critical quality activities including hydro testing.
Liaise with the other discipline Construction Supervisors on a continuous basis to ensure smooth execution of the construction activities.
Ensure that all construction and pre commissioning activities are suitably documented to provide a smooth handover to the Site Commissioning Team.
Liaise closely with the Site Commissioning Team to ensure that any mechanical rectification required during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases is promptly attended to.
Monitor as-built drawing preparation by the contractors to ensure that these are accurate and produced on time.
Report progress on the activities, versus the contractor's program, and advice of any potential slippages to the Head of Construction.
Review and comment on the contractors planning related to mechanical activities.
Liaise closely with Operations personnel, on a day-to-day basis, to ensure that they are kept fully informed of the contractor’s activities and that appropriate Operations input is obtained during the implementation of the work.

Current Project:
Working as Supervisor (Mechanical) in planning and development department of Attock Refinery Limited on ARL UPGRADATION PROJECT. The project worth 251 million US$ and has been awarded as an EPCC project to M/S Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd . The project comprises of following units:
DHDS, SRU, HYDROGEN, AMIN, SOUR WATER RECOVERY and ISOMERIZATION unit.

Pre-flash Unit
To cater for the additional crude oil availability in its region, ARL is in the process of installing a state-of-the-art Pre-flash Unit of 10,400 barrels per day at one of its existing distillation unit to enhance the crude refining capacity.

Isomerization Unit
The Company is also installing an Isomerization Unit of 7,000 barrels per day to produce environmental friendly gasoline and enhance its production by 20,000 tons per month.

Diesel Hydrodesulphurization (DHDS) Unit
The Company is also installing DHDS Unit of 12,500 barrels per day to reduce sulphur contents to 500 ppm in High Speed Diesel to meet Euro-II specifications.

Expansion of Captive Power Plant
To cater the energy requirements of the Up-gradation Project, the existing captive power plant is being expanded by 18 Mega Watt (MW).
