I am applying for the management position as advertised on Kootenay Jobs.

I am a highly motivated family person in search of meaningful work in the Castlegar area. I am a hardworking, mechanically inclined, mature individual with proven leadership, administrative and technical experience.

1976: Joined the Canadian Armed Forces.

After completing high school in Morell PEI, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces and trained to become an electrical mechanical technician. My years in the Canadian Army have helped develop my leadership and teamwork skills and perform each task in a safe manner. While stationed in Germany with the Canadian Tank Regiment, my ability to return equipment to a serviceable condition quickly, at all times of the day, in all weather conditions, earned me the reputation of top technician.

While stationed in Kingston, Ontario I was a supervisor in charge of instructors for electronic studies. Besides instructing, my duties included ensuring educational standards were met, accurate student reports were completed and fire warden duties were properly carried out. I was also team leader for the annual, highly competitive and demanding route march/rifle competition, which we won 2 years in a row.

While stationed in CFB Gagetown, NB I was the Sargent in charge of the Base Maintenance Electronics Workshop. Here, I controlled an inventory worth $1.5 million. Working within my budget and time restraints I was able to keep my subordinates eagerly performing at a safe reliable manner.

1995: Retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.

After moving our family to the Slocan Valley of BC, I setup a successful small business manufacturing and installing boat tops and awnings. To supplement my income, I was a snow plow operator for YRB Hwy Maintenance and part time driver for Cal-Gas Propane. I was also very actively involved in my community as a coach for minor hockey and as a member of the Passmore Volunteer Fire Department, where I was awarded a commendation from the Governor General of Canada, for my actions during a motor vehicle accident.

2005: Nitrogen Pump Operator, BJ Services, Red Deer AB.

I joined BJ Services and upgraded my class 3 licence to a class 1. Here I learned to properly operate and maintain a nitrogen pump unit. I learned each type of N2 pump and quickly progressed to supervisor. My attention to detail and safety awareness allowed me to instruct new employees, participate in and carry out highly sensitive plant jobs.

2013 to Present: Nitrogen Pump Supervisor, Essential Energy Services, Red Deer, AB.

I joined Essential Energy Services as a nitrogen pump operator/supervisor. My duties included working with different service companies, assisting coil tubing crews, supervising N2 frac units, pipeline and plant jobs. With Essential, we spend much of our time on the road far from our shops. As supervisor I must maintain my unit, monitor the N2 supply and watch the hours of service for myself and bulk N2 drivers. My co-operative and safety conscious nature had me mentoring and training new employees in the proper safe manner to operate the N2 units. Many trainees requested me as a mentor in order to become more competent operators.

My personality and experience allow me to be productive and interact meaningfully with my customers, peers and supervisors. Having a good rapport with customers and dispatch is important. Providing the customer with an accurate invoice at the job completion is essential for quick payment and continued business.

Driving is a large part of my job and I understand the importance of proper tires and continued vehicle maintenance. I’m a conscientious worker who always carries out a thorough pre-trip inspection and scheduled vehicle maintenance. My experience driving pick-ups, body jobs, tractor trailers and B- Trains in all weather conditions and doing emergency road side repairs has helped me relate to customers from all walks of life.

I have the personality and qualifications required for the position.

I have experience working within budgets, invoicing and inventory control.

I have taken many safety courses that include first aid, TDG, defensive driving, fatigue management, load securement and log book management.

I am healthy, a non-smoker, very fit, neat, and mechanically inclined.

I am available for an interview on short notice.

References and drivers abstract are available upon request.

Thank you.
