Studied the ETL design document users requirements

Development of graphs for the ETL process

Used Lookups with Reformat component to fetch matching records based on for the downstream process.

Used Sort component to sort the tables, and used Dedup Sort to remove duplicate values.

Description:

The ANZ Bank is one of the largest banks in the world. The current project is about their Consumer Finance, which includes providing credit cards and personal loans. In order to the business requirement this project is to cater many to many relationships between an ANZ customer and Account and to identify duplicates in ANZ source customer. To store different types of addresses for a customer and also to store history of address changes for an ANZ customer. They have maintained a data mart by name Customer level view project using AB initio where the data comes from various types of sources like Oracle, MS Excel and flat files. In this project different types of reports are generated for end user support to know about the total sales of the products and about the interest paying details and month end balance details of the customers.

Responsibilities

Description

Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, the US’s oldest mutual insurance of automobiles. The company is a national writer of automobile, homeowners, marine and personal excess liability insurance. It has 42 offices across the country. The project’s goal was to migrate a legacy system for issuing bond insurance quotes from a flat file system to client/server architecture. Build a Data Warehouse for auto insurance application. The focus is to provide the system with greater control, user functionality, robustness, scalability and security.

Responsibility

Understanding the Requirement Specifications.

Development of Abinitio graphs.

Worked with Partition components like partition by

Key, Partition by Round Robin, partition by Expression.

Performing transformations of source data with Transform components like Replicate, Redefines, Filter-by-Expression, Rollup etc.

Used Lookups with Reformat component to fetch matching records based on for the down stream process.

Used Data Parallelism, Pipeline Parallelism and Component Parallelism in Graphs, where huge data files are partitioned into metafiles and each segment is processed simultaneously.

Worked in a sandbox environment while extensively interacting with EME to maintain version control on objects. Sandbox features like check in and checkout were used for this purpose.

Allstate Insurance Company, Chicago, US. It is specializing in various insurance products to markets around the world. The main objective of this project is to deliver the data warehouse as a central repository to access the data from segments to make data available for analysis and reporting. It focuses on providing information for analysis on new business growth. Strategic Package 1 entails capturing data from identified sources of Quote and Issue and Distributor data, loading the data into a data warehouse.
