Duties and Responsibilities carried out in Neuro surgery critical care unit.
- Receiving and admission of patients
- Data collection
- Neurological assessment including vital signs
- Physical examination and diagnostic evaluation
- Continuous monitoring of patients
- Following physician rounds and carrying out the orders prescribed
- Assisting for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like Burr hole aspiration, central line catheter insertion, CPR, Intubation.
- Management of patients on mechanical ventilator support
- Collection of Arterial blood samples for the ABG analysis
- Procedures including insertion of Intra venous lines, blood transfusions and Total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and insulin infusions.
- Management of devices like Syringe pump and infusion pumps.
- Planning and implementation of patient care includes hygiene, nutrition, comfort measures and elimination needs
