Basic Duties
To Supervise,Coordinate, Scheduling, budgeting and Mointering the Work Flow of the Services related to Corrosion
/Painting, Insulation and Scaffolding of Contractors and Sub Contractors for Normal maintenance, Major Maintenance,
Shutdown activity, Overhauls and Construction of modifications in the LNG Plant, Refinary, Berth areas, Tank Storage
areas (74 Tanks- Internal & External)) and Upstream onshore and offshore equipment’s.
Responsibilities Involved:
Coordinates the daily running of corrosion/painting and protective coating work through the corrosion/painting contract supervisor. Responsible for ensuring standard and quality or work executed by the contractor, including screening, blasting, hand preparation, painting, Inspection and housekeeping.
Coordinates the daily running of scaffolding work related with painting directly through the scaffolding contract supervisor. Responsible for ensuring standard and quality of scaffolding work executed by the contractor, including all putlog, independent, tied, slung, free-standing and cantilevered scaffolding.
Submits written reports (daily, monthly and at end of contract) on work carried out and contractors performance. End of contract report will be used when contract renewal is being considered. Quality of workmanship, safety performance and productivity will all feature in these reports.
Assists the Plant Maintenance Mechanical Superintendent in the development of Contracts, specifically compilation of bills of materials and tender documents. Contributes to the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
Participates in the pre-engineering and planning of major maintenance and main shutdowns. This includes assessing resources, material, safety and logistic requirement. Supervises overhaul maintenance, provides technical advice on work methods.
Perform comprehensives plant surveys based on the business requirments in the loading areas(Berth areas) in order to initiate preventative programmes with particular regard to susceprible areas, associated with durablity, integrity and protection provided by painting, insulation, and fireproofing.
Reviews contractors procedures and equipment condition. Performs other related or similar duties such as compiling Contractor's time sheets, ITPs, store stock requisitions, accident reports and special technical reports all as directed by the Plant Maintenance Engineer.
Receives job requests from various Plant and Field Operation and Maintenance sections. Liaises with the contractors to plan the work. Includes planning, Safety and scheduling routine work, responding to emergency work, obtains cold, hot, vehicle entry, man entry and excavation + RLIC permits. Reviews and approves purchase requests and material issue requisitions.
Coordinates the daily running of hot and cold insulation work through the insulation contract supervisor. Responsible for ensuring standard and quality of insulation work executed by the contractor including cladding, foam injection, sheet metal work and housekeeping.
Plan, Execute and work Closely with Integrity, Inspection, Safety and Operation team for the successful performance of the IMS and RBI system based on the business requirements.
Maintain the historical data base specified by Corrosion Management and Control activity for future reference and accessiblity
Follow up with Inspectors for collecting data regarding corrosion monitoring and follow up with operation report
Follow up with the Contract and Supply department for Paint Materials to be purchased required for painting activities based on the requirments for the Quality of work.
Prepare Technical Reports and conduct corrosion analyses on equipments and cofer findings to ensure that associated risks are addressed and proactive steps are taken
Conduct audit check on regular basis on the contractor in accordance to sound technical and safe working practices.
Collaborate the complete performance of the Integrity and Corrosion team with respect to safety, efficiency, Policy, procedures and techniques based on risk based inspection method
Perform and Coordinate on-the-job Training and supporting the feedback of the subordinates for the development of each Individual.
Preparation of yearly budget area wise, Tender Documents (Scope of Work) for corrosion Mointering / Coating / Scaffolding and sending-out for enquires and tendering.

Inspection of Coating and Wrapping through all the stages e.g. Surface preparation, Primer (Coal Tar Enamel) and wrapping by COLD APPLIED Self Adhesive PVC backed tapes (Serviwarp & Premcote) for field joint as well as repair areas on shop coatings.
Inspections of FBE coatings for pipeline (10” & 30”) for field weld joints as well as repair areas on shop coatings.
Inspection of Insulation for Piping / Vessel Equipment as per ADNOC specification and witnessing at all stages, e.g. Surface Preparation – prior to painting. Painting - ensuring correct and anti-corrosion coating. Lagging - as per piping / equipment service (temp) i.e. checking the thickness of the insulation layers as the requirement and also ensuring the insulation is uniform with the specified tied wire of band Cladding – ensuring correct type of metalling and grading (rivet as and when requirement) and also ensuring the laps can shed water and give maximum protection from winds. Securement and Strapping – ensuring the correct grade of self tapping pan hand S.S. metal screw and strapping has been correctly placed and used.
