Quality Engineer: Plasma Coating Production Facility.
Direct customer and supplier interface for launch, engineering changes, customer issues and PPAP of a powder metal component used in the solid oxide fuel cell industry.
Improved output of an automated vision inspection machine from 40% output to 90% in six months.
Designed and improved inspection lab facilities with new furniture, paint, and product flow into and out of inspection lab. Improved and stabilize daily lab output via training, documentation, and lean manufacturing techniques.

Responsible for auditing JCI’s Business Operating Systems at 22 manufacturing facilities in Canada, US, and Mexico to the ISO/TS 16949 standard.
Managed and scheduled all ISO/TS 16949 Third Party Auditing for all manufacturing and engineering facilities and reported Third Party Audit results to Leadership.
Advance Quality Manager: Chrysler Interiors Business Unit. (Holland, MI)
Position included responsibility of reporting to senior management on APQP for current launch status.
Responsible for hiring and staffing for the quality department. Reporting of current staffing needs and uses of resources. Staff included three direct reports and two contract engineers.

Advance Quality Engineer: Launch, (Holland, MI).
Responsible for launching automotive interior trim components and door panels for the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Spyder, and Chrysler Dodge Nitro, Fiat 500 and the Dodge Dart, programs.
Interfaced with customers by developing and submitting APQP documentation, dimensional packages, tool prove-outs and appearance approval submissions.
Managed all supplied components and suppliers for each launch. Performed supplier readiness evaluations, tooling prove-outs and run and rates.

Quality Engineer: Molding (Holland, MI)
Responsible for overall quality of the molding process area. Department had 16 molding machines, six internal customers and four external customers. Molding methods were straight injection, gas assist molding, and compression injection molding with vinyl and carpet mold behinds.
Drove overall department scrap downwards by 25% in one year.
Improved scrap rate on highest volume part by 50% and booked $80K cost save by process and tool improvements.
Performed Six Sigma Green Belt project on a Ford door panel substrate and booked $15K cost savings.
Implemented and drove tooling changes that removed short shot condition in an in-molded speaker grill. Improved scrap by 80% for this defect.
Quality Engineer: Assembly (Holland, MI)
Responsible for overall quality of the door assembly line and FIP (foam in place) process area for the Lincoln LS.
Launched the Lincoln LS door panel lines and met internal goal of zero defects during the launch phase.

A global leader in “Thin Film” coatings, providing Titanium based coatings to the cutting tool industries and Tungsten based coatings to enhance the wear resistance of precision ground components.
Assistant /Production Manager
Responsible for daily operations of a 40-employee PVD coating company, utilizing a sales budget of $6.5 million, supervising employees, establishing and maintaining production schedules, preventive maintenance, adherence to budgets and P&L statements and working with customers on daily basis.
Improved “On Time Delivery” from 40 to 95% in three months.
Reduced production operations from a 7-day to a 5.5-day schedule while increasing production level by 28% and reducing labor by 7%.

A $325 million worldwide supplier of Diesel Fuel Injection systems to OEM engine companies such as Detroit Diesel Corporation, Daimler Chrysler, Volvo, Scannia and Mack Truck.
Supplier Development Engineer.
Worked with U.S. and European suppliers of materials and components to Diesel Technology. These suppliers included steel mills, forging companies, seal ring suppliers, coating companies, heat treating companies and machined parts suppliers. The position required forty- percent overnight travel in the United States and Europe.
Developed working relationships with the above suppliers’ entire management team to eliminate non-value added processes to aid in meeting cost reduction goals, resolve any quality issue that would effect a zero defect requirement and remove obstacles that hindered the on-time delivery of components.
Conducted three product campaigns at customers’ engine plants in the U.S. and Sweden.
Performed audits of potential suppliers and process audits for existing suppliers.

Instrumental in changing company philosophy from that of a small family business to a business that supplied $1.5 million in heat treating services to the aerospace, computer, automotive fuel systems, and anti-lock brake industries.
