Duties and Responsibilities

To receive the patients immediately as they arrive

Recording Pulse, BP, Temperature, respiration and SPO2 and keeping accurate records of these observations.

History noted from patient and bystanders.

Examination of patient general condition.

Alerting the medical officers about patient condition

Preparing patients for Therapeutic procedures.

Supportive investigations are sent as per the doctors orders including ECG,CTScan,Chest X-ray,Blood investigations etc..

Performing emergency maneuvers like CPR, Defbrillation, Insertion of airway,Endotracheal Tube, Nasogastric Tube, and Cathetrization.

Ability to connect the patients on monitor,identify problems and report

Setting up drips and blood transfusions.

Maintaining and checking intravenous infusions.

Administering drugs and injections.

Assisting with tests and evaluations.

Responding quickly to emergencies.

Explaining treatment and procedures to enable parents/guardians to consent to treatment.

Supporting, advising and educating patients and close relatives.

Engaging in and promoting multidisciplinary teamwork, including working alongside specialist doctors and nurses, health visitors, social workers etc.

Provide physical and psychological support to the patients and family members
