CLINICAL RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: JUNE 2005 to Jan 2007:
Principal Investigator and Project Manager of Bioavailability and Bioequivalence centre, ManipalAcunova Kasturba Hospital, (now called EcronAcunova), Manipal, India. www.ecronacunova.com
Principal investigator (responsible for the conduct of clinical study, including clinical aspects of study design, administration of the products under investigation, contacts with local authorities and ethics committee, designing the protocol, ICF, IB, CRF, and final study report) in bioequivalence studies with various molecules of reputed pharmaceutical companies.
Bioequivalence studies is testing between a product and a suitable comparator (pharmaceutically equivalent or a pharmaceutical alternative) by a pharmacokinetic study (measurement of systemic concentrations of the drugs) with normal subjects and is the way of demonstrating the therapeutic equivalence without performing the clinical trials with patients. The bioequivalence study thus provides indirect evidence of the efficacy and safety of a multisource drug product.
The studies conducted by me were reviewed by Food and Drug Administrators (FDA) and Word Health Organization (WHO) and passed without many remarks.
Conducted approximately forty (40) Bioavailability and Bioequivalence studies under my supervision with various molecules like Esomeprazole, Zidovudine, Lamivudine, Valacyclovir, Nevirapine, Efavirenz, Tenofovir, Ramipril, Atorvastatin and others.
