While employed by GTE between 1971 and 1981 attended over 4000 hours of GTE telecom and electronics training.
Between 1972 and 1980 studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at PennState University, York campus. Completed CMPS101 and CMPSC102 in the same semester with a 4.0 average. Between 1990 and 2000 attended various Oracle database design and PL/SQL programming classes. Continues to improve IT networking skills via on-line vendor training from Cisco and Adtran. 2015, March through September, Industrial Automation Rescued industrial automation project. Was contracted to resolve Allen Bradley motion control and machine sequencing issues. Automated product loading via conveyor, product positioning and product unloading via conveyor. Met customer specification for position accuracy and product completion times during product demonstration. Traveled to Mexico to oversee installation of equipment, perform startup and provide on site training to operators. Contracted to provide control system enhancements, perform design review of several mechanical components and assist with mechanical design revisions. 2013 to August 2015, network consultant to 14th largest city in Pennsylvania. Re-engineered and repaired the city’s multi-location computer network. Designed and deployed using CISCO and Adtran network equipment. Trained city employees to perform network analysis and maintenance. Design included VLAN segmentation to support VOIP telephone systems, control systems, administrative data, wireless access, network management.
