Position and Responsibilities

In charge with the supervision of the company’s day-to-day finance activities.

Formulate, implement, review and update the company’s accounting policies and procedures, which are in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles.

To be involved in conceptualizing, planning and budgeting for the company’s strategic programs such as CAPEX, proposal to clients, forecasting results of operations and probable consequences of each chosen actions.

To plan and organize the Finance organizational structure, define and streamline my staff’s job responsibilities, training and motivating the finance staffs and provide quality control over the group’s reports and analyses.

To liaise with government agencies such as BIR, SEC, external auditor’s etc. regarding government tax and compliance, annual external audits and other compliance with government and relevant 3rd parties regarding the company’s financial position.

Attend to previous year’s internal control breakdown and implement corrective actions. This involves closing the 2013 audit, correct the initial balances and tax returns, and apply alternative procedures for transactions that were undocumented.

Assist other managers in achieving their objectives by collaborating in proposed policies and procedures, especially those procedures that interlaps the Finance group’s competencies such as budgeting, payroll and compensation package, and other related issues.

Transconnection Asia is a start-up company, which offers sales and outbound services to various companies. It was in the process of applying for SEC registration during my tenure.

Position and Responsibilities

Account for pre-incorporation transaction.

Assist HR in formulating policies that needed finance’s advice, such as taxation, payroll and remittances.

Prepare for tentative FS prior to SEC registration.

Lay the groundwork for a workable finance team to be built up once the company is registered with SEC.

Conceptualize the necessary accounting controls and procedures to be implemented once the company is formed.

Coordinate with the HR regarding future policies on payroll, attendance and compensation structure.

Advise the investors regarding local rules and regulation for taxation, registration processes, incentives and other legal issues that needs clarification.

OTMC is a subsidiary of Odfjell Drilling AS of Norway. It offers various Engineering and IT services for support to the parent company’s several oil/gas drilling clients around the world as well as its own well platform.

Position and Responsibilities

Advises the Chief Operating Officer in areas relating to Finance, Compliance and Government reporting, as well as commercial and/or legal issues. These entail financial modelling, cost-benefit analysis, and research.

Helps in planning and implementing of strategic goals during management meetings, attend deliberations and report the financial condition of the company during Board Meetings.

Assist Operations and other managers in meeting their KPI’s by providing and interpreting data’s needed for informed decisions.

Supervise the preparation of Financial Reports such as Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows and other financial reports during monthly closing. Also insures that general and subsidiary ledgers are reconciled, accruals and prepayments recognized and recorded, as well as reversals of these accounts after monthly closing.

Exercise controllership duties, formulating, implementing and reviewing the company’s internal controls and procedures, insuring conformities to generally accepted accounting principles based on IFRS and industry standards.

Coordinates the submission of financial package to Norway in timely manner, reconcile intercompany accounts such as revenue, receivables and payables before consolidation process.

Performs cash management by insuring cash flows is sufficient for maintaining the necessary working capital for operation of Manila office, forecasting cash flows and advising COO if actions are needed to meet required cash flow.

Train and mentor finance staff to be able to deliver results in timely and accurate manner. This also includes assigning each staff his duties and accountabilities, workloads, deadlines and trainings.

Responsible for tax-compliance, making sure computation is accurate and submitted on time, as well as other government reports to SEC, PEZA, SSS, HDMF etc.
