Reservoir Engineering Intern at Petroleum Development Oman 6/2014 – 8/2014
Worked with a team of experienced reservoir engineers in re-designing a heavy oil reservoir for enhanced oil recovery using steam injection expected to produce 23,000 bpd by 2018.
Collaborated with geologists in analyzing electronic log data to determine optimal perforation depth for 25 new wells.
Analyzed reservoir fluid properties and previous production data to calculate increased production if EOR technique was implemented.
Quickly learned MBAL software to characterize reservoir and aquifer in order to conduct history matching for new wells.
Suggested methods to optimize production by infill drilling across the reservoir. P RO J E C T S
Senior Capstone Project (Sponsored by Occidental Petroleum Corporation) 1/2013 - 5/2015
Worked with a team of petroleum engineers to complete a 2 year project of reservoir characterization, designing a drilling plan and determining the feasibility of cyclic steam injection for a carbonate reservoir in South Oman.
Constructed 3D structure maps of reservoir and conducted Monte Carlo simulation to determine sweet spot.
Designed a horizontal well plan for the reservoir and conducted cost analysis to decrease drilling costs by 25%.
Recommended and developed cyclic steam injection plan and used CMG modeling system to illustrate increased production and future gains
Sustainability project to recycle high strength steel (Sponsored by Arcelor Mittal) 1/2012 - 5/2012
Collaborated with a team to design a method to separate high density steel from scrap metal to be recycled into automotive parts.
Chosen to present design at the annual Engineering Design Conference at Penn State in 2012.
Learned AutoCAD to build oxygen separator parts. Used 3D printing to build a prototype to present at the conference.
