Bank of America November 2010 – Present

Selected to support joint venture between Bank of America and First Data Corporation, specifically supporting Human Resources. Responsible for transitioning within nine months away from a Professional Employer Organization relationship . Successfully put in place new contracts for 401K, Payroll, Healthcare and Insurance as well as new ATS and Training platforms. One of two sourcing managers reporting to a SCM Executive. Accomplished my role with one third the manpower and reporting at the same time to an HR Executive but responsible for supporting three different HR Executives.

Sourcing Vice President supporting Corporate Workplace responsible for contracts and interface with three facility partners managing over 3500 buildings. Directly responsible for sourcing ground up construction and refit of buildings nation wide under $3M. Responsible for sourcing of Waste and Recycling, Deregulated Power and Fire Life Safety.

Sole contract specialist responsible for ten research and development cost type contracts worth over $1 billion. Negotiated all contracts within Government estimated costs. Assigned as lead six sigma coordinator for the Division, responsible for coordinating joint lean projects with major contractors to map and streamline processes. Currently, the lead contracts specialist on a team negotiating a contract worth approximately $8 million. Key member of Contracting Office recognized by the Secretary of the Army for contracting performance.

AREVA, Charlotte, NC March 2006 – October 2008

Subcontract Manager responsible for managing 17 subcontracts valued at $18,727,508 for large DOE nuclear projects. Ensured subcontracts were properly written to communicate accepted terms and requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DOE Acquisition Regulation (DEAR). Advised senior management and engineering teams on the requirements of these regulations. Tracked fulfillment of all contract actions and maintain proper documentation. Found sources, wrote Requests for Proposal or Quotation, negotiated pricing and terms and conditions and assisted in source selection.

Jacobsen Division of Textron, Charlotte, NC May 2005 – December 2005

Purchasing Manager supporting a $4 million service parts business for OEM products manufactured over the last twenty years at five different manufacturing sites. Managed team of eight buyers.

Raised purchasing fill rates from 93% to 97% allowing material fulfillment to grow to 96%.

Reduced customer aged orders by 40% and the number of days late by 75% through process improvement, goal setting and re-negotiating supplier contracts.

Awarded Jacobsen Leadership Award for meeting internal metrics targets ahead of schedule.

Nominated for and completed Textron’s Michigan State University Strategic Supply Chain Management Program in East Lansing, Michigan.

Danaher Corporation, Lancaster, SC January 2005 – April 2005

Materials Manager for diverse manufacturing facility. Responsible for purchasing, planning and warehouse operations. Negotiated pricing, terms and conditions and delivery with global supply base. Managed team of eight in purchasing, planning and warehouse departments. Provided materials status for the factory monthly to corporate executives.

Established a two bin Kanban program in four manufacturing cells, resulting in $7K in inventory reductions in the first month.

Initiated new receiving tracking and referral process in the warehouse to reduce order book inaccuracies, gain PPV, and reduce inventory.

IBM / Solectron Technologies, Charlotte, NC March 1996 –December 2004

Managed $91 million in material assets and successfully reduced it to $86 million in one quarter. Negotiated recovery of $2.8 million in inventory claims from customers in a single quarter.

Successfully met quarterly claims and excess and obsolete (E&O) stretch targets established by senior company officers. Reduced E&O by $8 million in one quarter by developing a series of contracts with suppliers and customers to market and use the material in other programs.

Utilized new corporate initiative to reduce cost to customer by $2 million in a single quarter. Developed a third party program allowing for the removal of $4 million in excess inventory

As purchasing manager – Managed a department of fourteen buyers and two analysts. Oversaw the completion of an average of 255 new purchase order messages, 401 cancellations and 600 date changes per week. Oversaw all product returns. Briefed senior corporate executives on quarterly factory status.

Led department through a period where, due to promotions, 50% turnover in personnel occurred without impacting business. Actively managed a vendor base of over 800 with over 65K parts in a tight market where lead times increased by five fold. My strategies resulted in meeting revenue goals for five consecutive quarters.

Negotiated placement of over $203,000 on Vendor Managed Inventory Program in a single quarter, exceeding site goal and paving the way for rapid expansion. Negotiated successful implementation with IBM Microelectronics to place over $500,000 in inventory per quarter on Vendor Managed Inventory. This negotiation not only involved the supplier but 3 divisions of IBM and Compaq as customers.

Challenged price variances and negotiated a savings of $2.25 million. Decreased inventory $1.1 million by restructuring acquisition process. Reduced headcount by five while developing and implementing process to increase purchasing responsibilities by $60 million.

Reduced excess inventory by over $800,000 by implementing an ordering policy. Consolidated older production cards to a single source resulting in savings of $360K annually.

United States Army, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama December 2001- November 2002

Contracting Officer - Responsible for managing, negotiating and executing change orders to a five-year helicopter production contract valued at $2.1 billion.

Implemented a successful metrics tracking program for the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command’s Acquisition Center which conducts approximately $8 billion in contract actions annually. Integrated this program with the McDonnell Douglas Division of Boeing.

Wrote, planned, negotiated and executed two $4 million contracts for Post Production Software Support. Originated and negotiated the idea of payment participation from four foreign governments for their portion of facility usage. Developed new statements of work for the facility.

Successfully negotiated and managed a $2 million effort for Customer Field Service Representatives from Boeing, an $800,000 effort on Quality Deficiency Reports and an $850,000 effort on an Internal Auxiliary Fuel System. Initiated new efforts of $800,000 and $1 million respectively for a Joint Tactical Radio System and the ARC200 Radio System. Each contract was negotiated below the initial government estimate and successfully modified on a number of occasions.
