Academic Project
Analysis & Optimization using CFD of an NACA0012 airfoil with Gurney Flap (ME) A detailed analysis of pressure distribution is the object of study of the work. The work had been performed using a NACA0012 profile, for a various angle of attack and Gurney flap height. A CFD analysis is performed to investigate the effects of height of gurney flap on the aerodynamic characteristics of NACA0012 airfoil. Computational results will be validated with the available experimental results. The analysis of two dimensional (2D) flows over NACA 0012 airfoil is investigated by using viscous-laminar model. Analysis was executed by using a Reynolds number equals to 3.7 105, for angles of attack 0,8,16 by CFD package which is ANSYS FLUENT 14.5 & using CAD preparation of two dimensional NACA0012 airfoil. The study investigates adding a Gurney flap with four different heights 0% c, 2% c, 4% c and 6% c. The aim of the work is to show the behavior of the airfoil at these conditions. Pressure holding device: Pneumatic Vice (BE)
This vices consist of a base containing special single-action pneumatic groups acting on a slide that slides in a channel machined on the back of the base. Contained in the base, without requiring any increase in size, is the command for the adjustable loads of pre-clamping and clamping and of a check valve located before the pistons.
