This involved 7 diving and survey vessels as well as 8 small craft that were launched from deck. Four crew change and supply vessels coming out from Iraq and Kuwait were used for transfers. The total manpower offshore was around 240-250 men including ship’s crew. The largest vessels were the AOS Provider, AOS Constructor, Albatross, ADS Aquadiver II and Boss 1, an AHTS. The personnel included 28 divers, 20 survey personnel, 12 British security personnel & Cox’ns and 30 armed Iraqi security guards. Surveys were carried out using seaspy magnetometers and USBL positioning. Mitigation was performed by divers with water jetting and using a Marin Subsea MFE excavator.
