$18M manufacturer of cryogenic liquid and high pressure gas processing equipment targeted to the industrial gas and natural gas industries.

VP Sales & Marketing (2012-2015): Direct Report to President. Member of the Senior Leadership Team. Core focus is to identify new markets and create new revenue streams. Full P&L responsibility for the Oil & Gas Division.

Developed marketing strategies to successfully target new industries and acquire new customers.

Identified & Targeted New Industries: Grew revenues by $2M annually by targeting new revenue stream focused on the natural gas industry. Marketed the company’s expertise in cryogenic liquid and high pressure gas equipment to the natural gas industry.

Built and Managed Field Service Installation Division: Specialized in the installation of Liquid Natural Gas and Compressed Natural Gas fueling stations. Generated new revenues of $1.5M annually.

New Account Acquisition: Acquired new clients including Shell LNG, Clean Energy, Electro-Motive Diesel, Blu LNG, Trillium LNG, Love’s Travel Stops and numerous General Contractors.

New Product Launch: Developed Vacuum Jacketed Piping as a new product line. Developed marketing and pricing strategy, defined target customers and developed manufacturing procedures. $1M first year revenue.

Implemented CRM: Implemented Zoho CRM for tracking customers, leads, opportunities and sales.

Operations Responsibilities (2010-2012): Direct Report to President. Full P&L responsibility & Senior Leadership Team Member. Responsible for improving the company’s implementation and use of SYSPRO’s ERP software.

Managed Engineering Department: Oversaw the hiring of new engineers and the design software upgrade from AutoCAD to AutoDesk Inventor. Successfully oversaw the upgrade of all core drawings from 2-D to 3-D. Corrected BOM’s and Structures and Routings and uploaded to SYSPRO.

Improved Labor Accountability: Implemented Shop Clock software and terminals. Integrated labor data with SYSPRO to allow for improved tracking and reporting of manufacturing labor cost. This allowed management to improve accountability measures for the shop foremen. This resulted in an almost complete elimination of overtime and a 15% reduction in labor as a percentage of sales.

Inventory Management: Successfully reduced inventory by 35% over 2 years. Set max/min inventory levels with automatic reorder points. Implemented bar coding, scanners and cycle counts to improve inventory accuracy.

Process Improvements: Oversaw the purchase and implementation of automated pipe bending equipment. This allowed CTR to eliminate numerous pipe fittings and reduce labor to weld these fittings in place. The result was a $250,000 annual savings in fittings and labor.

Universal Products, Inc. – Rock Hill, SC 1993 to 2010

$8M manufacturer and distributor of DURALINK chain link fence products and pet supplies.

Partner and Vice President: Built new business from a start up to an $8M manufacturing and distribution business. Full P&L responsibilities for the company. Defined marketing strategies, manufacturing processes and procedures, and distribution.

New Business Startup: Grew business from a startup to an $8M manufacturing and distribution business.

Multiple Locations: Manufacturing and distribution facilities in Rock Hill, SC and LaGrange, GA.

Product Development and Branding: Worked with a manufacturer of chain link weaving equipment to develop a unique manufacturing process to differentiate our chain link fabric. Branded the chain link fabric as DURALINK. Defined manufacturing processes and procedures.

Sales and Marketing: Developed sales team to build customer base to over 1,200 retail outlets including hardware stores, feed and farm supply stores across the Southeast and Midwest.

Key Account Sales – Personally managed key account sales to accounts including ACE Hardware, True Value, Southern States Co-op, Alabama Farmers Cooperative, and Pet Supplies Plus.
