ACADEMIC PROJECT

Title: Design and Implementation of Low Power Multiply Accumulate Unit Using Vedic Multiplier

Duration: 6 months

Description:

The project was based on designing an area-efficient, low-power Multiplier Accumulator Unit (MAC) unit using Verilog hardware description language and implemented in a FPGA kit

The work compared two MAC units, which uses a Vedic Multiplier designed using two different adder structures, in terms of area and power consumption

The units were designed by writing the program code in Verilog followed by code synthesis and simulating the code

Title: Automated Signal conditioner calibration system for Launch Vehicle Avionics

Duration: 1 year

Description:

The project work was done in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Trivandrum

The purpose of the project was the elimination of manual & conventional methods of testing and monitoring the signal conditioner system of the launch vehicle before taking flight

This was achieved by automating the calibration process of the signal conditioner system with the help of certain modules, the signal conditioner processes the output of sensors producing a digitized output and forwards the measurements to the ground station via telemetry system

The sensors measured and controlled the parameters affecting the performance of the vehicle without violation of vehicle safety limits, the launch vehicle used sensor data of different types and characteristics used in different subsystems for the single goal of precisely injecting the satellite into the orbit defined by the mission

Proper selection of each sensor characteristic is crucial for vehicle safety, mission reliability and accuracy

Using Visual Basic language, the equipment were directly controlled through commands via the RS232 interface, enabling the data obtained from the equipment to be displayed on screen, stored in the database, which could be accessed later for detailed analysis

Title: Radio Remote Control using DTMF

Duration: 6 months

Description:

It was a circuit of a remote control unit which makes use of the radio frequency signals to control various electrical appliances, this remote control unit has 4 channels which could be easily extended to 12

A DTMF generator was used in the Transmitter where signal was transmitted using FM wave and a FM receiver consists of DTMF to BCD Converter, Flip Flops and relays to switch on and off various electronic appliances

The remote control unit allowed to control the appliances from anywhere in the house with an advantage that no harmful radiations were emitted from the device

Another important aspect was that the remote control unit could also be upgraded

CERTIFICATIONS

C++, Java and Android in CDAC- Centre for Development of Advanced Computing

SEMINARS

Conducted a seminar on Stealth Aircraft at Kerala University that used Stealth Technology to escape from Radar Detection through a combination of features to reduce visibility in the infrared, visual, audio and radio frequency (RF) spectrum
