Responsibilities consisted of developing and overseeing a $23 million budget for a school of 4000 students and a staff of 300; student scheduling; staff development; staff hiring; procurement of supplies, materials and equipment; transportation; buildings and grounds; attendance for staff and students; payroll; scheduling of events; data research; summer school principal; liaison with community organizations.

…Jan.1977-June 1998: Appointed Building Coordinator of Spec.Educ. – Calhoun HS, Bellmore-Merrick CHSD, Merrick, NY. Duties included hiring of teaching staff; responsible for the writing and implementation of the IEP’s for 400 special education students; procurement of supplies and materials; observations; class scheduling; coordination of itinerant services; liaison with outside districts; curricula development.

Summary of Intent:

I retired from my position as Assistant Principal in September, 2013 to move to Florida and live “a life of leisure”. As it turns out, I now believe I am not yet ready for this life style. I feel I have more to give. I would like to continue sharing what I have learned in my 40+ years of educational administration with the young people coming into the field today. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with whomever is interested.
