Project Engineering, Resident Engineering, QA/QC Experiences

• Lead in the coordination of design and procurement for all phases of the project to ensure that the project is in strict compliance with the contract drawings and specifications.

• Assist in the preparation of scopes of work, and work with the estimating group in the screening of subcontractors & vendors, and assist or lead in the solicitation of price proposals from same.

• After award, negotiate with subcontractors & vendors for a buy-out (award) per accepted cost es- timate (price proposal).

• Prepare and monitor submittal logs, and monitored actual construction through the administrative direction of on-site superintendent.

• Monitor schedule prepared by project controls using tasks, duration of activities, resources, and logic given to same, to ensure on-time progress and budget delivery.

• Interface with CM, AE, and Safety personnel to assure continuous communications and relation- ships.

• RFI monitoring and implementation of responses from Consultant.

• Tracked project costs including identifying potential cost variations from the estimates. Develop and negotiate change orders or as directed by on-site superintendent or Project Manager. Site-Engineering and Construction Support

• Review construction plans, procedures, drawings, specifications, work packages, and revisions to these documents to ensure that design intents or basis, and requirements are incorporated and adhered to.

• Provide engineering technical support to Construction Department on an as-needed basis in mat- ters of code provisions and compliance, constructability issues, and data or designed product packages and submittals.

• Ensure that the various changes to the design and contract documents enumerated above are technically adequate.

• Maintain and manage administrative control of design calculations

• Interface with and assist in the management of contracted engineering firms providing design con- sultancy.

Field Construction Experiences

• Represent the owner and the engineer/architect of record onsite in a responsible charge or lead Resident Engineer-Construction Engineer capacity, including construction coordination and moni- toring functions. Interface with and assist in the management of contracted engineering firms providing design consultancy.

• Lead in the administration of the construction contract; and handle construction-related issues dur- ing construction. Track, respond or resolve, and manage emerging technical issues that arise, and immediately determine the impact of same on the EPC or Outage Projects.

• Serve as the primary liaison with the owner’s project staff, contractors, vendors, field testing firms, and government or building official agency representatives performing onsite inspections and vis- its.

• Supervise the materials testing and inspections program; coordinate/monitor QA/QC inspections and tests conducted by others. Coordinate the testing of soil spoils with the Plant Environmental Resource Recovery Department, and schedule remediation activities to minimize disruption to on- going site or facilities construction activities.

• Lead in the technical interpretation/clarification processes during construction, of drawings and specifications requirements in conjunction with the owner, and the engineer/architect of record; and coordinate responses with same for recording and official issuances purposes.

• Provide input to CPM schedulers for schedule updates with regard to general construction logic, potential conflicts, and activities or deliveries falling behind schedule; and evaluate contractor pro- posals of remedial actions to correct schedule or delivery problems.
