It consists of 4 modules and is mentioned below.

1.Portal Registration: This allows the DSBR Provider to obtain the login details so that he may submit his tender. The steps to obtain the same are:

Visits national grid website www.nationalgrid.com. A link will be provided to direct him to the DSBR page.

Once on the DSBR page, he will have the ability to sign up.

For signing up, he needs to enter his preliminary details and submit

The provider will receive a mail confirming his request submission.

National Grid user will be able to view the details submitted by this provider and can either approve or reject this request.

If approved, a system generated password conforming to the business requirements, will be mailed to the user. The user id will be mail id provided by the provider at time of submitting the login request.

If rejected, the provider will receive a mail informing him of the rejection.

2.Tender Submission: Once the provider has received the login credentials, he can log in to the system and submit his detailed offerings. The steps to submit the tender are as follows:

The provider will login with the credentials provided to him by National Grid.

The details he need to enter are categorized into 3 levels, namely:

Company: This is the entity that will be responsible for delivering the services. All communications including contracting by National Grid will be done at this level.

DSBR unit: These are the basic blocks which are offered. A company can offer as many DSBR units as it wishes, however the minimum offering of each such unit should be 1 MW. The system will not allow any provider to submit units smaller than 1 MW. The primary responsibility of the DSBR is to provide the offered Capability either in the form of demand reduction or Capability generation or a combination of the two. National grid will have no communication at this level.

MPAN: The building blocks for DSBR units are the MPANs. These are physical entities which actually consume or generate electrical energy. There is no limit as to the number of MPANs constituting the DSBR; neither is there a minimum offering Capability for a MPAN. The MPANs can be of 2 types:

Demand Reduction – The service will be to reduce demand when requested by National Grid

Generation - The service will be to produce electrical power when requested by National Grid.

3.Tender Validations: National Grid will be able to validate all the tenders that have been submitted. The application will allow National Grid user to :

View the details submitted at all the 3 levels – Company, DSBR & MPANs.
