Job responsibilities at 2 plants repairing steel mill & lifter equipment including management and maintenance of ISO 9001:2008 to ensure compliance. Champion of 3i (cost save initiatives) with over $225,000 in captured savings directly relating to EBIT lines. Fully implemented the 6s program at both plants with metrics to track success. Stream lined 5 new quality objectives to chart and track trends. Lead facilitator of all management review initiatives for financial, customer, process. Company is a large Tier 1 automotive supplier to many OEMs supplying various interior automotive components including seating, hard trim, carpe, headliners and electronic devices. Sales exceeded $16 billion.

Job duties consist of tracking over 80 direct ship suppliers across 9 programs going to several OEMs and plants. TS16949 compliance. Involvement in APQP to launch to full production to service. Assured timely deliverables for all facets of quality including APQP gates, PPAP, corrective actions as well as satisfying internal deliverables and plant metrics. Extensive supplier involvement in root cause, problem solving, permanent c/a and validation stages. Full support of error proofing methodology for all complaints. Participation in design reviews and dimensional validation and life cycle testing as well as manufacturing feasibility teams. Tracked all customer complaints as well as web management of the supply base for PPM and c/a. Ensured all suppliers have met annual PPAP requirements and records are current. Identified high risk suppliers and performed training on site at supply locations. Participations in tool moves from bankrupt suppliers and re-launched product at new supplier. Responsible for daily and quarterly metrics. Assisted in establishing new budget for our department. Led by example on cost saving activities. Company applies powder coating and E-coating for the automotive and appliance Industry. Company is a tier 1 and 2 supplier with 10 plants in 3 states and 2 countries. Company went bankrupt

Job duties consist of managing a staff of 14 Quality Supervisors/Inspectors and 2 Quality Engineers across 3 plants in Norwalk, Ohio. Focus was maintaining & enhancing the current QS system, established regular customer visitation, on going evaluation of the approved supplier list, QOS measurable, performance appraisals. After 6 months of effort, our Customer DPPM was reduced from 1700+ to currently less than 400. Corrective action requests have dropped approximately 20% since January of 2002 by driving corrective action through the company using fool proof fixes and by implemented across the board fixes for other similar commodities. Reporting to Corporate Director of Operations.

Forest City Technologies Inc – Corporate Quality Engineer 2000 - 2002

Company applied thread coating materials for fasteners/nuts (3m, loctite, dri-lock, teflon, etc.), foam die cuts, mastic, plastisol, dip and spin material encapsulation of parts, silicone potting, rubber applications, liquid nylon coatings, liquid and thermal injection moldings, high speed digital imagery sorting, and high speed laser vision sorting services. Tier 1 & 2 supplier with 10 plants in 3 states.

Job duties included managing the quality activities of 7 different plants. These duties included cost of quality, PPAP oversee, implementation of all new programs (program management), customer visits, mqr meetings, weekly ccr/car/internal 8d meetings at each plant, validation of implemented corrective actions, and implementing preventative measures to stop repeat occurrences. Reviewed all final draft 8ds. Other duties included customer contact, supervision and performance reviews of 6 quality specialists and 5 quality lab technicians. Customer satisfaction was our goal; by exceeding their expectations with quick response times and timely corrective action implementations. Since being hired, customer complaints were reduced by 22%, cost of quality and returns were down 20%, repeat occurrences were less than 2%, and corrective action turn-around-time was reduced from 27 days to a 14 day average (start to finish time). Assisted sales on new programs- completed PPAPs that exceeded over $3 million dollars in new sales.

Lorain County Automotive Systems – Quality Engineer 1999 - 2000

Company manufactured head restraints for the “big 3”. The steel coil stock is straightened, cut to length, formed, broached and ends chamfered. Additionally, articulating head restraints, reclining seat brackets were also produced through some valued added assembling welding and riveting processes. Company is a division of Magna.

Job duties included program management of new jobs, APQP, supervisor of 4 quality technicians, 2 floor inspectors and 1 layout technician, started customer visits on monthly basis, trained staff to understand blueprints, gaging, layout and organization of the lab and started a visual sample board for PPAPs’, and rejection sample board for all to view. CAR/ 8D problem solving customer concerns and customer ratings tracking were a main focus. Managed existing supply base, issuing rejections (cost recovery) and awarding new suppliers work. Lead Engineer in QS9000 audits. Personally launched and implemented a continuous improvement program that included implementing cost saving ideas. Provided facilitator training to middle management staff. Through monthly customer visits and weekly phone correspondence, CAR’s were reduced by 33%; cost of quality was reduced by 27% after 6 months of effort.

Shiloh Industries, Wellington Stamping Division – Quality Department (see below 1989 - 1999

Company primarily produced high volume automotive metal stampings up to .300” stock thickness with up to 2000-ton press capacities as well as some value added welding/riveting assemblies made up approximately 15% of the sales. Shiloh Corporation consists of 15 plants in 3 states and 2 countries. Note: Shiloh Industries, WSD was formerly Sectional Stamping, Inc. a division of Shiloh.

- Gage/Fixture Specialist 1997 - 1999

Job duties included CAD design, purchasing gauging equipment and test fixtures, assisting cost estimators on new job quotes, engineering changes, and APQP. Held internal classes on SPC, GR&R’s, GD & T and basic gage training on an ongoing basis. This position also required obtaining customer buy-offs on new tools/fixtures & dies. Selected suppliers for building gages. Supervised two Gage Technicians on the off shifts for proper layout/calibration and management of precision equipment. QS9000 participation required a working knowledge of the MSA guidelines. CMM programming, GR & R/linearity studies, layout, calibration of approximately 300 test fixtures and over 700 pieces of test equipment into an electronic database. Provided raining for production/quality employees on proper testing and fixturing of new parts. Assisted program managers/cost estimators in negotiating blueprint tolerances. Received cash award for most effective cost savings ideas submitted and implemented. (2ndnd quarter of 99’) Total savings for 1999 fiscal year was $140,000.

– Senior Quality Technician/Layout 1995 - 1997

Job duties included APQP, CMM layout 3 axis, overseen PPAP’s (fmea/control plans/flow/GR&R creations), assisted program manager in negotiating blueprint tolerances and notations. Responsibilities included supervision and designation of workload to quality technicians for layout/floor inspection of 35 presses and 5 offline-welding operations for 24 x 7-day operation. QS9000 was implemented and award was achieved during this time (1st company in Lorain County to obtain status)

Job duties included starting a quality department with QA manager (brand new company) writing procedures, fmea, flow diagrams, and control plans, capability studies, CMM layout. Worked on production floor auditing production parts as well as performing receiving inspection on supplied materials. Assisted Q.M. on customer visits when necessary. Kept track of hold area. Overseen all exiting PPAP’s during this time period. Volunteered as a trained first aid responder, participated on the ergonomic workstation and newsletter teams. Q1 award was achieved.
