REPRESENTATIVE BUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS
Managed 47 maintenance technicians to facilitate new startup and modernization of 1,000,000 square foot assembly line manufacturing plant production 10,000 air conditioning units per 24 hours. Resulted in record startup run availability of less than 2.7% maintenance down time.
Planned all blueprint verification, inspection, installation, initial maintenance, safety and testing processes for all new equipment in multiple manufacturing plant startups. Resulted in successful, on time, within budget installation of equipment valued at 2 plant startups.
Managed people and processes to: complete maintenance work orders correctly the 1st time; reduce delays in repair parts ordering using computer system; and assure daily production/maintenance meetings between shift team leaders and maintenance planners to set repair priorities. Resulted in increasing production output by $2.25M over a 7 month period.
Instituted an ongoing operator friendly preventive maintenance program to assure adherence to equipment manufacturer specifications. In one instance, reduced mechanical seal replacement expense by $1.4M annually.
Setup a lubrication vendor participation program to sample all rotating equipment oil/grease reservoirs without typing up company resources. Resulted in a 78% reduction in mechanical failures to save $1.2M annually.
Benchmarked with DuPont Chemical to create and implement a program to reduce near-miss accidents. Resulted in reducing incidents from an average of 8 to less than .5 per month over a 6 year period.
Coordinated the completion of 214 mechanical, electrical and instrument repair maintenance work orders during a 72 hours period. Resulted in on time/within budget completion with no unscheduled loss of production to prevent a potential $570K loss.
Planned project to increase clean water output capacity by coordinating new equipment tie-in during 72 hour window. Resulted in a 15% improvement in clean water output capacity to increase paper production output from 600 to 690 ton per day average to generate $190K in additional annual revenue.
Drafted and modified a plan to set assigned equipment round check duties to 52 production shift personnel and 14 daytime maintenance personnel. Resulted in: 35% reduction in wasted man hours; 100K+ reduction in annual outside contractor costs; and a 7% increase (from 88-95%) in housekeeping/ safety rating to comply with both corporate and OSHA guidelines.
Led mechanic group to create a companywide skill based promotion incentive program to ensure equitable and fair progression based on testing.
