Clinical Rotation - Gerontology

Hocking Valley Community Hospital I was responsible for providing comfort care to patients in the skilled nursing ward. I also helped with their activities of daily living.

Kimes Nursing Home I was responsible for helping residents with their activities of daily living as well as hygiene care.

Clinical Rotation – OB/GYN

I was responsible for helping with post-partum exams and newborn exams. I also helped with preparation for births.

Practicum 1

Dr. Alba was a general physician. In her office I gained extensive knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system. I was also responsible for checking the patient’s vital signs and give injections when directed.

Practicum II

At Dr. Anazlone’s office I was responsible for checking patient’s vital signs, height, weight and reason for visit. I was also able to gain more experience in the use of the EMR system. I assisted the doctor with minor office surgeries and was able to prepare instruments for the autoclave.

At Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville I was responsible for filing and maintaining paper charts for patients. I also was responsible for obtaining the patient’s vital signs and determine the reason for their visit.
