Built a graphical user interface (GUI) of ReDySim which is a Recursive Dynamic Simulator of Multi-body systems
Modeled the GUI using MATLAB-GUIDE to ease the use of ReDySim where the user is required to specify various parameters of the multi-body system to be simulated Intern May, 2011 - Jul, 2011
Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Durgapur, India
Computed forward and inverse kinematics of a bio-inspired robotic frog to facilitate a leap using MATLAB PROJECTS
Diesel Engine Control using Min-Max Speed Governor
Designed a state machine in Simulink to control the different run stages (stall, crank, run) of a 5.9L inline 6-cylinder Cummins diesel engine by controlling the amount of fuel injected
Designed a Min-Max Speed Governor as well as torque controller at the run stage
Determined the crank and cam shaft positions using an oscilloscope to simulate an engine position reference signal for the VP44 fuel pump
Initially tested the controller on HIL (Hardware in the loop) using VeriStand and then calibrated the engine and tuned the controller using MotoTune
Electronic Throttle Position Control using a Potentiometer
Calibrated and controlled the throttle valve and potentiometer using a PID controller, designed using Simulink
Tuned the PID by acquiring the readings using MotoTune
Implemented the distributed control system using CAN protocol wherein one ECU received the input signal from the potentiometer and the other ECU sent the feedback signal from the electronic throttle as CAN messages and monitored them using CANKing
Gasoline Engine Horsepower Calculation using a Dynamometer
Calculated the horsepower of an inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine using an absorptive dynamometer which was mechanically loaded
Collected the different speeds of the engine using a tachometer at different loads applied on the dynamometer and then plotted them on a graph to calculate the horsepower of the engine Fundamentals of Aftertreatment Systems
Formulated design criteria for diesel oxidation catalysts, wall-flow filters, fuel additives, CRTs, and NOX traps, taking into consideration, the tradeoffs in performance and durability
Implemented safe regeneration techniques for diesel filters and urea dosing techniques for SCR systems Analysis of 3D structures using Finite Element Methods
Modelled 2D and 3D structures using the CAD software SolidWorks and analyzed the stresses, strains, and displacements with varying parameters like mesh density and the type of modeling PUBLICATIONS

Team Head Oct, 2012 - Feb, 2013
ABU Robocon Pune, India
Led a mechanical team of 15 people for the Asia-Pacific robotics contest, which involved designing and fabricating 1 manual and 2 autonomous robots
Designed the robots from scratch using Catia V5. They consisted of a range of mechanisms like pulleys, rack and pinion, and gear trains. The motors used, included DC servos and induction motors and one of the robots had an omni-wheel drive
Fabricated each of the robots which had a dimension of 1x1x1 meters using various aluminum sections. Some of the few processes involved were welding, riveting, and machining
