1. Process Engineer (Engen Oil Refinery, Durban)

I worked as a process engineer at the Engen Oil Refinery in Durban for 7 years

(from 7 May 2007 to June 2014). I was the engineer for the sulphur recovery units, amine units, sour water stripper, aromatic solvents unit, aliphatic solvents unit and tank farms. The refinery should manufacture gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas, kerosene and other petrochemicals. My daily duties included; problem solving, monitoring of units, analysis of crude oil assays, evaluation of catalysts and chemicals, participation in Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), What if analysis, Basic Design and Operability Reviews (BDOR), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), process design, process optimization, process modifications, project support, participation in maintenance turnarounds, support process technicians (operators), advising the executive management and research. 2. Laboratory Project (Umgeni Water)

I conducted a laboratory project at the Wiggins Water Works, from 1 March 2006 till 22 May 2006. The aim of the laboratory project was to investigate the cleaning of fouled filtration sand. I worked in the laboratory and on a pilot plant in their Process Evaluation Facility.

3. Vacation Work (EnviroServ Waste Management, Shongweni): I did vacation work at the EnviroServ Shongweni landfill, from 12 December 2005 to February 2006. I worked in the laboratory and I analyzed landfill samples. I obtained a good knowledge and understanding of the waste disposal process. 4. Supervisor (Raggy Cove Caterers, ABSA Park):

I worked on match days as a supervisor at the ABSA stadium in Durban, from 1 January 2004 to 31 July 2005. I had to supervise the catering staff, do stock control and solve the customers' complaints. I supervised 40 staff members and 8 food kiosks directly.

5. Vacation Work (SAB Miller Brewery, Prospecton): I did vacation work at South African Breweries in Prospecton during the July holidays, from 1 July 2003 to 31July 2003. I had to diagnose a problem that one of the pumps were encountering and also solve a piping problem with the carbon dioxide traps.

6. Waiter (Center Court Restaurant, Pavilion):

I worked as a waiter during the Christmas holidays at the Center Court Restaurant in the Pavilion shopping mall, from 1 December 2002 to 24 January 2003. I waited on tables, solved the customer's problems and did general cleaning choirs. References:
