Summary

I have been in outside sales for many years with heavy emphasis on cold calling and overnight travel. I have been an independent contractor working on straight commission sales only. While pursuing new business my travels took me to many states. I am a strong one call closer. I am a strong relationship seller who believes that the customer must get personnel service from the salesperson they are dealing with. 2015-Present

Service Writer-Customer Relations Manager, Lightning Truck and Auto Repair.

This is a part time position with a family owned automotive repair facility. I greet customers when they enter to have a vehicle repaired. I write the service work order, enter it into the computer. After getting the work order returned to me from the technician I would call the customer to report what is needed to make the repair. If I sell the job I would then order the parts from the local supplier. Some days I work the AM shift and some days I work the PM shift where the customer is now picking up their vehicle. I then collect the charges incurred for the repair. I am on a hourly wage with a small commission for all jobs sold. Again this is a part time position in which I average about $2200.00 per month.

Regional Sales Manager, Albuquerque Video Tours a Division of MLS Real Estate Video Tours.

I work very closely with real estate agents, brokers, and for sale by owners. I shoot in High definition houses, townhomes, condos, vacant land, and complexes. This is a new start up business in New Mexico with this service never offered before to this market. I give group sales lectures and training trying to get the real estate market to use our services. I am prospecting for new agents and houses for sale by owners. This job is strictly cold calling looking for new agents and home owners. Since housing sales are very slow this market has been very difficult to open. I am on straight commissions with average earnings only $4000.00 per month.

Distributor owner for Motor Information Systems Inc. a division of Hearst Media Publications.

I am a manufacturer distributor and sales agent for automotive print manuals and repair software for Motor Information Systems Inc. This is a 100-year-old company selling automotive diagnostic repair manuals to the automotive repair industry. I also deal with collision shops, schools, libraries, government agencies, and insurance adjusters. We cold call to repair facilities to show the product line consisting of over 100 titles to help facilities repair through manuals or software the correct procedures for fixing vehicles. My profit was $8300.00 per month after expenses.

1999-2004

Independent Sales Contractor, Regional Sales Manager.

Agent for multi line automotive extended service agreements, warranties, gap and etch products. I was the representative for Driverz Edge. I was working with independent car dealerships as well as new car dealerships, and used car dealerships in the New Mexico and El Paso markets. Extreme cold calling and overnight travel is required for this job. My commissions each month average around $2500.00 after 2002. Before 2002 I was earning after expenses $5500.00 per month. After 2002 this was a part time position only and Motor Information Systems was my sole source of employment and income.

1985-1998

Principal owner for Automotive Computer and Equipment Distributors.

Sold computer software management systems and hardware to the automotive industry, schools, city states governments, and the federal governments. My company also sold heavy automotive equipment consisting of wheel service, brake service, heating and air conditioning equipment and automotive lifts. I installed and trained on all equipment sold I wrote quotes to business owners for capitol equipment and worked very closely with finance companies, leasing companies, and banks to secure funding. The business was running a profit of $6500.00 per month.

1982-1998

I sold automotive repair information in both print and electronic CD ROM software format. I sold products one on one to business owners, dealerships, service stations, schools, libraries, military fleets, and city and state governments. Our products enabled the automotive industry to diagnose and repair any function of any car, light truck, medium and heavy-duty truck. I covered New Mexico, West Texas, Southern Colorado, and Oklahoma Panhandle. Our compensation was straight commission with earnings in excess of $100k per year.
