Objective: Work as a Project Electrical Engineer/Project Manager utilizing my background in the following areas: Engineering design control, instrumentation, integration, lighting, equipment design and installation and maintenance. In addition, input my supervisory skills for electric industrial installation per National Electric Code.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Westinghouse Electric Co. April, 2007 to October, 2015
Shoreview, Minnesota
SR. PROJECT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. Design, procure, testing and installation of Refueling Equipment Cranes for Nuclear Power Plants for both domestic and international markets. Projects range from $50k to $10M. This includes all the phases of the projects from design concept to procurement, manufacture, testing at factory, installation at site and site testing and validation. Develop documentation including package design drawings, installation procedures and test procedures for both factory and site. During the design or testing also develop engineering changes due to obsolete parts or customer request changes. All these changes were documented through a proprietary documentation process to validate proper changes to comply with company quality control. Designs performed under NEC and CMMA 70 for gantry cranes and controls. Installation support 24hr via phone support from factory or on-site support. The design process included obtaining the proper security clearance for unescorted access to perform walk downs inside nuclear power plants to validated proposed or potential designs and verify mounting and installation locations. In addition, involved in mentoring junior engineers in company processes and techniques. Support internal company Caps(corrective action program for improvements).
Up North Plastics Inc. November, 1991 to April, 2007

PLANT/FACILITIES ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. Design, installation and maintenance of power distribution systems, 480/277vac.Upgrade, Design and assembly of automated motor control centers utilizing either relay logic or Programmable Logic Controllers, including PLC programming to meet current safety and NEC standards. Systems integration initial set-up, start-up and troubleshooting. Supervise electrical installations to meet NEC standards or better. Pulling necessary permits for installations and follow up on state electrical inspector approval. Variable frequency drives, AC or DC, installation, commissioning and initial start-up. General electrical maintenance (on call). Including power lighting design and installation.
Generate and update electrical drawings utilizing ACAD. Control center start-up procedures, motor installation procedures, AC and DC variable frequency drive start-up procedures. All this equipment to be used on plastic extrusion and plastic recycling.
Reliability Center Maintenance. Helped develop this program utilizing the latest tools for predictive maintenance: Ultrasonic, Vibration Analysis, Thermography and oil analysis. Equipment monitored on regularly basis to successfully predict equipment failure, minimize down time and possible catastrophic failure.
Provide training sessions on basic electricity and basic electrical maintenance for plant electrical trainees.
ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER. Coordinate different electrical installation projects from conception to completion, including scope, plan and drawings development. Supervise and coordinate tasks to meet time requirements. Typical projects include a complete Extrusion Line, Silo storage installation with its loading and unloading pneumatic system. Supervise procurement of parts, outsourcing installation services and contracting.
