Responsible for the design and construction of custom semi-automated and automated machines using Solidworks design software. Designed a semi-automated brazing machine to braze copper transformer stud and spade assemblies together using copper/silver/phosphorus pre-forms. Designed an automated parts handling system to move threaded copper studs between three machines to eliminate manual handling of parts and incorporated spray rinsing of studs after threading operation.
CABKA NORTH AMERICA, INC, Hazelwood, MO. - Project Manager 2012 – 2014
Hired as a contract project manager to relocate three (3) 220 ton plastic injection molding machines from Toronto, Canada to the Cabka plant in Hazelwood, MO. This included preparing the plant by installing a 12,480 volt substation to power the 575 volt Canadian machines, organizing the logistics and rigging, preparing and pouring machine foundations, and implementing robots on five (5) molding machines to remove molded parts from the machines. Managed the Tool Room for the Cabka North America Facility.

Promoted to this role in recognition of capabilities, and contributions to the firm’s product profitability. Recruited from the plant to division as a Project Manager to develop the “Custom Solutions” product lines across the entire division. Custom Solutions is a new department developed to deliver customer specific modifications to existing products, or new products based on customer and end user feedback. Developed, designed and implemented a cost reduction project for the 600 volt 60 amp LPJ fuse product line. The old design was expensive, fragile and difficult to manufacture. After a re-design the product was cost competitive, robust, easy to manufacture and provided a cost reduction of $1.0M per year. The average cost reduction per fuse was 34.9%. The documentation on the project was hailed by the ISO 9001 auditor as the best he had seen and informed management that the project was handled better than most design firms that specialize in these processes.

Recruited to work with the product engineering team in the design for manufacturing of new products. Developed new concept for Medium Voltage fuse cut-out and designed a two piece assembly to replace an eight piece assembly. Manufacturing cost reduced from $1.85 per assembly to $.75 per assembly.
Developed new manufacturing process to reduce the number of parts in the fuse tube cap assembly. This design has been adopted by all the major manufacturers of fuse cut-outs.
